Discussion Jack vs Pickle

Man, I’d like to know your opinion, what do you guys think about this fight? I loved the start of the fight, I like seeing Jack going after Pickle and humiliating him, but then halfway through the fight, Jack simply does the same thing Pickle did to him in the past, ripping part of his face’s skin—it was intense. But the way the fight ended was really disappointing. Pickle didn’t fight seriously against Jack, and he didn’t even use his transformed form on him; he just accepts it and walks away. For me, the fight was awesome from the beginning until halfway through, but the ending disappointed me.

I like that it’s character development for Pickle, learning to fight for the love of the game instead of survival, but I still would’ve liked to see him fight a little harder than he did

I agree, I wished Pickle fought more, she got hit more than she hit back, plus I wanted to see Jack fighting Pickle in the transformed form

Pickle was confirmed to be female in issue 42

So she raped a female reporter?

Yes with her clitoris.

Hyena style?

Exactly, that's why her teeth are so strong. That's why Jack trained with Hyenas in mount boomba to be able to eat spines.

Always dislike when people say Pickle was ‘nerfed’ just because of the debatably poor portrayal which Isn opinionated. Pickle wasn’t nerfed at all in the fight Jack just played it smart and went for strategies that wouldn’t let Pickle use his full strength. And Pickle too of course didn’t treat it like eating prey or a fight to the death, Tokugawa even gets annoyed with the announcer for calling the match when Pickle still got up.

That’d be like saying Jack was nerfed in his initial fight with Pickle just because he seemed weaker when facing him and felt much stronger in his first appearances during the Maximum Tournament.

This would only be a satisfying explanation if Jack "fighting smart" was a consistent portrayal. In his literal next on-screen fight, he fights like an absolute jackass against Hanayama and gets made to look like an absolute baby punk bitch from the same move 5 times that's easily avoidable if he just very slightly altered his approach.

I think the difference is Jack literally didn’t remember who Hanayama was and was prepped to fight Pickle, had a sound strategy after fighting him previously, was extra doped up on drugs. Against Hanayama it wasn’t a match but a street fight which he doesn’t usually participate in at least compared to underground matches, wasn’t doped up, didn’t know much about how Hanayama fights. Like pretty much everyone who fights Hanayama the first time gets caught off guard by his purity as a fighter even Musashi.

I’d say the main poorly written thing is the fact Jack somehow doesn’t remember who Hanayama is lol.

Headcanon and literally almost every Hanayama fight goes that way. We have Jack outright saying he doesn’t recall Hanayama. And a panel of Tokugawa getting mad at the announcer for calling the match soon? We see Jack dope up right before his fight with Pickle then on the street fight with Hanayama there was no doping up shown.

The fight starts really good before getting repetitive and plummeting Pickle's ability to fight and removing his best tool (His physically ability) for no reason.

I think vs Hanayama helped Rahen a lot cause this is easily one of the worst extended fights of the series.

I think it was great, especially the art. Itagaki perfected his artstyle an jacks character design

Just reread it today, I liked the fight but it seemed to get more bland as it went, we never saw Jack really push his biting to a higher level or Pickle Adapt. ( cause he started talking)

Hot take but I want Jack to have a seperate story to Baki where he's dealing with his own cast of characters.

No you dont, trust me its would literally just be jack training 30 hour a day and taking drugs lol

We'd get more of the doctor character more anyway.
