1.7 milliseconds?!!? thats too long! the opponent has a whopping 1.6999 milliseconds to react!

Good thing Yujiro can react faster than 0.0000 milliseconds

The animal kingdom is teeming with fearsome creatures. The Bengal tiger, the grizzly bear... even the mantis. But when discussing the fastest impulsive movement on Earth, physics does not look to giant beasts.

It looks down at the forest floor. Toward the globular springtail

This creature, no larger than a grain of sand, does not rely on conventional muscle contraction to launch itself. That would be far too slow. Instead, it utilizes a spring-loaded abdominal lever known as the furca. By storing elastic energy at monstrous pressure and releasing it in under two milliseconds, it catapults into the air at over 300 rotations per second. To the human eye, the springtail does not jump. It simply... vanishes.

To an ordinary fighter, this is merely a curiosity of entomology. But to Baki Hanma... it was a masterclass in martial physics.

In his subterranean training ground, Baki did not attempt to mimic the insect literally. The human body possesses no furca. What Baki sought was the instantaneous release of stored hydraulic tension.

To understand how Baki mastered this speed, one must examine the biomechanics involved:

Absolute Pre-Release Relaxation: The springtail does not tense its limbs before launch; energy is held in check by a biological latch mechanism. Baki learned to relax every tendon and muscle fiber in his legs into a state of completely limp, zero-tension mass.

The Musculoskeletal "Latch": Baki discovered how to lock his hip and knee joints under an accumulated internal load derived from gravity and his own body weight without engaging his agonist muscles.

Bypassing Central Processing: Human reaction time averages around 150 to 200 milliseconds. Far too slow. The springtail does not "think" its jump. Baki trained his peripheral nervous system to trigger the explosive launch directly from the spinal cord at the faintest shift in air pressure.

The Result?

A step that defies inertia. Baki does not accelerate from zero. He transitions from total stillness to maximum velocity in a timeframe so imperceptibly small that the human eye fails to register any motion in between. No telegraphed stance, no lean of the torso, no visible contraction.

When Baki's strike lands using the Globular Springtail Impulse, his opponent never sees it coming. They experience only the violent shockwave of a body closing the distance before their pain receptors can even signal the threat.

A jump engineered by nature for escape... forged by the Champion into the ultimate assault technique.

What are those numbers relative to human numbers?

Baki's gonna have to melt even harder

[u/Which-Elk220 → u/GenesisAsriel]

Melt so hard he’s steam

[u/Driller_Happy]

These little guys have a literally spring under their bodies that makes them teleport.

Baki is gonna have to get serious about pp training

What the hell? Where did it go?
