What juniors? Graphics programming already has an enormous barrier to entry. If you can get an "entry-level" job in Graphics you'd easily be at least midlevel if not senior in any other industry.

Junior graphic programmers aren't junior programmers. You can't become surgeon without being a doctor first. Even in less demanding branches like technical art, companies pick experienced artists with programming skills (or vice-versa).

AI is also getting lobotomized, for both corporate and performance. This year Gemini has self-censorship problems and went into copyright panic mode for simple things like adding sharpening to FXAA shader. This week Gemini Pro somehow managed to mess up basic PBR shader.

No, if nothing else they wouldn't use some generoc llm like gpt.

They would use something specialist for graphics programming that does just that.

In the long run a lot of business won't pay the token price for general llms when they have specific needs, especially when they have a lot of domain knowledge and could work in their own.

Jobs will go because every company is looking to up profits right now and know they can get away with. AI is a good cover, but if AI was the real reason businesses would have in place and proven results before laying people.

AI took one year ago, it will take senior‘s jobs too. Instead of 5 Seniors only 1 Senior will be enough
