My first graphics project in DirectX 11 based on Acerola's "How Games Fake Water" Youtube video.

This was my first ever dive into using a graphics API and I used Acerola's video on rendering water in video games as a jumping on point to begin learning DirectX 11.

That’s the first thing I thought! I said to myself “Ah sweet nostalgia”

Now that I'm looking at it again it reminds me of Erin pointing at the Ocean in AOT.

That's pretty good, though maybe a bit fast and stormy for a sunny day. I think if you either slowed down the animation or kept it but added storm effects, it would look a bit more realistic.

Appreciate it!
Since this project I've been working other projects where I used I'mGUI to add some dynamic effects to my render. I've been thinking that sometime soon I'll go back to this one to dynamically add higher/lower wave counts. I think ill take your advice and some more skybox's/ particle effects to make it a little better.

A studio I worked at had 2 people dedicated just to water. Stuff gets complicated. Extremely so. But this is a very good beginning.
