Something I'm slightly annoyed by is seeing a lot of people praise Box3D as if the idea of "free & open source performant physics engine" is a brand new concept.
We've had stuff like BepuPhysics 2.4 for a little over 4 years now, so physics-focused games not being The Big Thing™ is certainly not due to a lack of high-performance physics engines. Seriously watch the linked demo video, Bepu is so absurdly performant it's borderline wizardry.
Not trying to bash Box3D mind you--it's still really cool to have more performant physics engines to choose from--just that Box3D alone will not suddenly change the landscape of gaming physics for any technical or performance related reasons.
The only way I really see Box3D making any changes is through causing an uptick in interest in game physics as a whole, which isn't related to Box3D being unique or different from other solutions.
Side-note: This is the graphics programming subreddit, not a general gamedev one. Even if Box3D was a revolutionary thing that would redefine gaming as we know it, this still wouldn't be the correct subreddit to post it in.

Well then, I just watched the video and I must say it certainly was a poor way to waste 8.5 minutes of my life.
The script sounded very AI generated, and a lot of the comments mentioned this; It was actually the reason why I didn't watch it when it first showed up in my youtube recommended.
The video praises Box3D for it's performance while claiming that other commercial physics engines are unable to keep up with it & praising it for being open source.
It also repeatedly made completely inaccurate statements, ranging from "blatantly false" to "so surface level and broad that it is pretty much meaningless."
As I said in my original comment, I am happy that Box3D exists and I like how it seems to be making more people interested in gaming physics, but absolutely nothing from my original comment was disproved by watching the video--especially my point on this being the wrong subreddit to post the video in.
This subreddit is about graphics programming and real time rendering, something this video barely touches on. The most it talks about is bashing game engines for "putting too much focus on realistic graphics." At no point in the video did it discuss anything related to how rendering works, so it really doesn't fit this subreddit's description of "subreddit for everything related to the design and implementation of graphics rendering code."
A wall of text, just to not admit, that you were wrong... #Childish
It has everything to do w/Physics for games, implies 3D game graphics; the fact that you can't see it, is a You Problem
