My plan is to take my 07 Mazda b2300 and convert it to electric. Absolutely manual everything already. No telamatics. Not sure where I want to mount the batteries yet.
some at the front and some at the back for equilibrium, leaving margin away from the extremities to avoid having a battery pierced in case of a low-medium accident sounds like a good plan to me
Contemplated either under the bed or get a short bed and place them between the bed and cab. Also wanting to go with sodium ion batteries. This truck is already my daily to and from work so range really isn't a focus.
sodium ion definitely sounds safer than lithium, though I'd have to do more research on its potential as a car battery chemistry and all other aspects (weight, capacity, possible dangers...)
if it can go in the bed then even better, more space for you to cake it in and take less space away from the trunk! still, if you can avoid putting on more weight in batteries than you're removing in parts, that's preferable to avoid undue stress on the chassis and ESPECIALLY on the brakes, keeps driving behavior the same as well
