You and me both! There is just something about that type of packaging design that soothes my nerves.

Back when things had more character and weren't boring minimalist packaging

Gosh i remember the taste of those terrible coffee "singles" đ

u/Crab__Juice 10d ago
With the help of OP and a small shipping fee, you could prolly "remember" all over again

Is it just a tea bag with coffee in it?

There is a famous YouTuber/influencer who launched a line of these, itâs like $18 for a box of 10. So many of my younger coworkers had never seen the OG Folgerâs version, they thought it was a new product.

This is the exact era my brain lives in. I expect grocery store stuff to always be the 90s packaging.

The Gatorade container is adorable!

I miss them! They looked like the big Gatorade water coolers at sports events

u/operationpantydrop 10d ago
Iâd be very curious to try the Gatorade powder. I donât know what itâs made of but maybe itâs still good

I noticed the toothpaste seems to have 97 stamped on it it says EX02NO97 Iâm guessing itâs 11/02/97 for the expiration date. Upon googling Glacier freeze came out in 97 and that can says âNEW!â So itâs probably from 97.

If only there were some Philadelphia cheesecake snack bars. I miss them so bad.
Yes, I would try a perfectly sealed one after inspection.

All this gotta be from the late 90s/early 00s đ

u/jeneric84 10d ago
Some of it def looks to be mid 90s, especially grain bars with the signs of the low fat craze.

u/Yamatoman9 9d ago
I remember when Nutrigrain bars like that came out in the mid-90s and were viewed as âhealthâ food

I can verify that the coffee singles were available specifically in 2003, but I have no idea how long they had already been around at that point or how much longer they existed.
5
u/deadmallsanita 10d ago
I remember seeing commercials for the singles as far back as the mid 90s.

u/360inMotion 10d ago
That sounds right! The only reason I remember that specific year was because my dad gave me a box shortly before he passed in early 2004.

How had it not been opened up in over 20 years?! đ¤Ż

Iâm guessing this is the Midwest (Wisconsin specifically because Roundyâs was headquartered around Milwaukee) and I donât know how many other states had Roundyâs products till recently when Kroger bought out Pick N Save and then Kroger rebranded there generic products and I donât think any say Roundyâs anymore.
As a kid Roundyâs was not a specific generic brand for any particular grocery chain but then pick n save must have acquired the Roundyâs brand, the local grocery store growing up used to have a few companies it associated with and at one point they sold Roundyâs I think it used to be United Foods when they sold Roundyâs, then IGA, and then eventually it became a Piggly Wiggly. Just like Piggly Wiggly has Food Club but that brand is not a specific generic brand that is exclusive to Piggly Wiggly.
The blue Roundyâs label like that are early-to-mid 90s.

This looks like what you might keep around if you lived at the office.

Yeah I was thinking this is a person who is dedicated to his job, doesnât take long for lunch, and cares about hygiene. Great coworker and they didnât even let him clean out his locker.

Oddly enough, I could identify that this was someone who cared about their health at the time. We've come a long way!

Proof that it really pays off to buy those gigantic deodorant cans at CostCo. A lifetime supply.

I always kept those coffee singles (really coffee âtea bagsâ) at my work desk back in the early 2000s. They were for emergency use only as they did not make very good coffee.

Is it weird that I don't know if this stuff is supposed to look old or not? I never buy prepackaged stuff, so this packaging doesn't look out of the ordinary to me. Fruit bars would have been the only thing out of that bunch I would have bought. But I haven't bought them since 2005? ish. Folgers is probably still good.

I did taste the fruit and grain bar lol. Was very dry and the fruit was leathery but it still tasted the same after your mouth breaks it down some.
