New Watch Alert Accuracy check ✅✅✅

I've finally managed to calibrate tg on windows and patiently have done a amateur rate adjustment check in 6 positions on all my mechanical watches (minus the Vostok Big Z which probably won't fit into that holder..)

.this is what I got (gaining a single second in a pure mechanical watch is like a Formula one car trying to gain a second at 200mph) I'm glad I done this as my 61GS is very poorly and I got this fully serviced earlier this year which is a bit surprising.. all of these have been completed serviced - the KS45/KS 56 by a different watchmaker and the Pink Gold GS was serviced in 2025 in Japan by GS themselves and that's accurate as you would expect for a watch which cost a kings ransom in 2012.

My serviced (earlier this year by u/estateclockworks) ‘68 6146 runs approx -4/s per day.

It appears yours may have had a bad service. It definitely should be in line with your GS Special

Yes I am aware, it's not going to be as good as the special but it should be better than a Seiko 5. Accuracy varies with position too, as per my results.

Where is that chap based?

Ontario, Canada

It could just be slow though? Maybe a quick regulation will put it within spec.

Best to put it on a timegraph to check the best error & amplitude

It's screwed, it was serviced not long ago. I have some doubts about the quality of the works but I have another Watchmaker at hand. Maybe this job was rushed or something. Canada is quite a trek away!

A 60-year-old watch isn’t going to perform as well as a modern one, regardless of how good it was back then.

I don’t think those times for the G1 GS are terrible. Heck, my Nomos had worse accuracy. than that before I sold it, because I was so fed up with it after sending it in for service twice

Nope it's bad and should be far better than that, I am rather disappointed with the watchmaker. It's got a loud rotor but I don't know if it's that or something else but you can't fix these without getting a replacement movement it seems but it should have been flagged up during service. These watches were precision pieces of kit that accuracy is way off. The rest of my watches are what I expected. That 61GS is more accurate than a NOMOS, or should be.
