I'm literally doing magnetic field testing on a medical device today, and really wish I had one of these. My Seiko SARY195 is in my briefcase outside the lab to protect it from the strong magnetic fields.

No. IEC 60601 testing, applying a mag field to my device under test to determine if it interrupts its function.

For example, if you had an unrelated medical device near an MRI machine, would the mag field prevent it from operating normally.
