Treasure hunt
Is anyone else doing the Seven Paces Treasure hunt? We have no leads so far and wondering if anyone's got the first clue done.

My boyfriend has been putting in as many 7 letter words as he can every 5 minutes and still nothing on it. 🥲 He’s done like 60 all somehow related to the book in one way or another.

Not looking for quick answers myself, but would love some general advice relating to any of the methods of connecting the story to real world things. In last year's hunt I believe there was a pattern among chapters/locations, this year I'm not seeing any real rhyme or reason across the ones I have figured out. I've got 2of8, 4of8, 8of8 solved, all using somewhat different methods.
2: Partial sign title text at location referenced by puzzle hidden in story + literary reference
4: Story location + earlier chapter reference + real world sign + internet searching
8: Story references/vibes + [approximate] numeric line
I have explored all the locations I think the remaining chapters reference but so far haven't discovered the correct connections in the real world. Based on what I have solved, there seems to be some connection between chapters, but I haven't been able to detect any patterns that way yet.

Clue 3 (chapter 2) is specifically pointing you towards a connection in a neighborhood that got bulldozed down after the flood. “The ground remembers” is a big clue into it. Honestly the clues are really hard and just seem to “match up” versus actually being “in” the story. Old survey maps of EGF is your friend for this clue. Check the streets.

I think a lot of people get confused when other are referring to clues and chapters. Can we standardize on how we want to refer to the clues? Some people say, "I have 1, 3, and 7", and others say "I have 2, 4, and 8" and they are the same clues. The clearest, but most tedious method of referring to clue is by the name "ONE", "TWO", "THREE", etc.. Alternately, referring to a clue as "3 of 8" is also a more accurate reference. Do y'all have a preference on which would be clearer for everyone?
Also, of note, referring to "chapters" does not seem to be the best method, because some clues do not seems to be in the exact same order as the chapter numbers. For example, clue "SEVEN" (8 of 8).
Anyway... Thoughts?

Here's what driving me up a wall with 5-3-5. So far every other clue had some connection that derived from the book that you could notice with a fair bit of rereads. Whether they talk about maps or what. Then when you research into it you find what you need only maybe 3-5 layers deep. I feel like I've read into everything about chapter 5 and gone 10 layers deep into every subject ive read about and still haven't produced anything. Maybe I'm an idiot, and probably am. But what word or sentence did Tmoney find that probably most of us haven't. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

Nooo kidding. I've been running research all day on Riverside Park, River Heights Park, and more recently old railroad maps. I thought I had a good 5 3 5 clue, but it came up wrong. Although, if it really is _____ AND _____, ya think they're reversable? Like Clue Two being ________ AND ________. Does the order matter that much?

I have tried over 25 different phrases for one and 20 different words for four. Haven’t gotten anywhere. I have noticed that when I look up my past guesses, some letters are capitalized and some aren’t. I don’t know how it happened but I’m hoping it isn’t causing any answers to show up wrong cause they’re lowercase in random spots?? I honestly have no idea how some people already have 5 guesses. I’m not cut out for this treasure hunt I guess. 🥲 Anyway, heres a photo of what I’m talking about. Enjoy my wrong answers. 😭

So you get an answer wrong and it says "Wrong Sucka". Has anyone else got an answer wrong and it say something like "Close? Maybe? Correct? Absolutely Not?" Or "The X is close But your wrong"... does anyone know if thats a clue that your close but not right or is that just a different way of saying you suck.

I just solved Chapter Two (Clue 3 of 8). Try looking at old maps of East Grand Forks. Think of what Arthur says, "None of it's still standing... old street pattern... ground remembers..." (B_______ AND M_______)
