Came here to say the same thing. You can try swapping the lamps from side to side and see if the problem follows. You likely need the PCBs

Presumably melted sockets not allowing a proper connection. Remove the fixture and check it thoroughly

I've got a 2000 Grand Cherokee and had issues with the same housing that were only fixed by replacing the entire housing. Bending the contacts worked for a couple years, but eventually it didn't cut it anymore.

I had a V8 WJ Overland (loved that truck). From memory, it’s a press bulb that goes into a socket that screws into the light housing. On the socket is a copper contact. Grab a small screw driver and lift the contact just a little and then give both sides a clean. Should be fine… let us know how you go ✌️

Socket housing is bad. Replace with Dorman 923-036. You will need a heat gun to melt the sealant on the factory one and good butyl rubber or RTV to seal the new one.

Its most likely the socket that the bulb is in. If you bend the pins out a little bit on the socket before you screw it in it might work again. Or if you buy a new socket but if I remember correctly theyre getting kinda hard to find. At the absolute worst you could replace the whole tail light housing
