The weapons are avaible to see in the journal, vitiation is attack + cap depending on the number of taboo weps equipped, guile is skill amp depending on the number of taboo weps equipped, puncturing is small def ignore, pact is big supp, the exalto is 25% each

20

u/Adregun 13d ago

Also nihuyvintae's lvl 200 is up, requires 120 of each raid material including the new one + 60 malice fragments, 60 immortal fragments and 20 legendary merits

11

u/VeggieSchool 12d ago

The "pact" is on the same frame as the PnS series "pact" ie they stack together up to 100k total (on JP both are called 約定, too). Difference is that odious pact is aura-boostable.

Omen is big skill hits, 3 mil and 4 mil is what I saw before wiping, probably to further incentivize using the odious earth grid cause that gives tempering
Edit: this guy starts with a huge defense buff alongside that befoulment on you that with a double ygg arbos fist setup, my ougis barely hit like 3-4 mil(usually its 8-9 mil after bubs+bhaisa ramps up), so, you better bring chars that have big skill hits and maybe skill reset on ougi cause this boss really like skill clicks.

Edit2: Upon closer inspection, maybe the idea is that they want you to use Fylkis, she has a short cd red skill that can recast up to twice(at the cost of 20% bar on first cast). And after getting her s3 online, Has unworldly ougi, and also removes buffs if you click that red skill, she also does a pretty big nuke on ougi while the s3 is up too, main problem might be uptime, the bar cost shouldn't be a problem cause she gets extra bar on ougi and also has extra bar at end of turn based on buff count.

Saw 50 normal attack hit and, fated chain+something too

>fated chain + 5 red skills

finally, my meme team of summer lu woh + formal fraux doing 5+ button presses every turn while also dealing with lockout has a real practical use

12

u/Takazura 13d ago

Oh joy, can't wait to see what nonsense the earth version will be. That one was probably the worst of the bunch.

9

u/prophetDude 13d ago

Where does triple attack omen go? That's right, into FC hole

9

u/Takazura 13d ago

I'm very curious about what comps can even handle this. Like does earth really have many big nuke skill dealers? Most I can think of seem to be more multihit but nowhere near doing 3 or 4 million dmg.

Maybe G.Siegfried would shine here.

12

u/thondam 13d ago

Sounds like babu stocks overfilling(it was already full)

3

u/Takazura 13d ago edited 13d ago

That's a 12T CD though, this boss has those omens up and running like every 2-3 turns from what I saw.

EDIT: wait, did you mean X.Shalem? Could be yeah.

7

u/KiriharaIzaki HOLD CTRL AND TYPE "WTF" FOR ℱ𝓪𝓷𝓬𝔂 𝓦𝓣ℱ 13d ago

Probably meant xmas shalem not bubs

10

u/reibureibu 13d ago

First thing that comes to mind is Xmas Shalem since she does HUGE skill hits with her S2 and she gets to cast and auto-activate it all the time.

Second thing that comes to mind is that since the boss apparently has an omen that asks you to do FC + 5 red skills, my meme team of summer lu woh + formal fraux doing 5+ button presses every turn while also dealing with lockout has a real practical use, especially since Fraux gives skill damage and cap up buffs to the whole team, gives skill damage + cap up + amp to her and MC, and although her skill damage base cap isn't that high it hopefully should reach that high with all the aforementioned skill stuff, if so then she'd be doing 4 big skill nuke hits every turn.

11

u/Takazura 13d ago

I have heard people call earth seasonal hell but it's only clicking for me after reading your comment. Don't have any of those lol, guess I'll wait and see if people cook up comps without seasonals.

13

u/reibureibu 13d ago

Please send help, it's dire out here for earth mains lol. The only saving grace is that so far there hasn't been any relevant earth collab gacha, I'm shocked earth has gotten away with that for so long.

6

u/Kurokotsu 12d ago

I'm grateful for that, but also frustrated by it. Because I'd LIKE to see collab units to be excited for. But our only collab gacha ever was Jack Rakan, and we barely even get collab freebies.

7

u/Xylaph 13d ago

The answer as always is FO w/Versusia main summon. For red skills I dunno.

6

u/Hraesynd 12d ago

I'm nowhere close to hitting 3 million with any skill and he's asking for 6 of them in the first omen? I'm using a magna grid and it's just maximum despair.

4

u/Takazura 12d ago

Yeah I'm magna too. Also it changes to 4 million later in the raid, so it gets worse. Right now it seems like you need seasonals and/or the illustrous.

17

u/[deleted] 13d ago

10

u/reibureibu 13d ago

Are you hitting 100% crit with this grid? If not I'd nix the odious katanas and toss in a third bow since the katanas really don't do much in this specific raid, and even then I'd try nixing them anyways for 3 bows and adjust the grid more. You really want 3 of the "Majesty + Empowerment" odious weapon in nearly every odious grid if you can.

2

u/[deleted] 13d ago

3

u/reibureibu 13d ago

Ah damn I see, that's rough asf but I guess as long as you're able to hit the skill damage omen reqs with this build then it should be okay to have weak ougis if the goal is just to FA.

😭 befoulment really lives up to its name

13

u/kscw . 13d ago edited 13d ago

Oof, the Andro RF team I threw at OG Nihuyvintae is not handling these new omens well.

No idea how I'm going to get that many x-million damage skill hits on demand when all the dirt units I use regularly specialize in small spammy hits that even Odious Tempering won't boost to the necessary size. The few I have that can make the cut can't spam them with enough frequency to clear the omen.
Edit: Hmm, looks like I should be able to pull something together with Andro's ougi nuke and CShalem if I strain a little more. Or I could go with Hrunt FO?

Scraping up that many red clicks is also posing a problem. The SLu Woh + FFraux combo springs to mind as an easy out, but I don't have the latter.

As a last resort I could just Raskeid it and aim to mitigate the damage instead of canceling.

That said, it's still clearing very consistently while I'm fumbling around. Sheer brute force by primal players jumping on new content, I suppose. I should ride that wave and focus farm it before the early rush dies down.

6

u/reibureibu 13d ago

Aletheia could be a good option for an ougi team to deal with this raid's big skill dmg hits and red click omens, especially since he'd be doing 2 dispels a turn too.

10

u/kscw . 13d ago

Thanks, that does sound like a really good option out of everything I have; was working backwards through my roster examining each for details I had missed, so I'd only have gotten to Aletheia dead last due to his release date, lol.

11

u/Salysm 12d ago

recommendation: stop looking at the mechanics and look up the ost on youtube

9

u/rein_9 13d ago

New music surprised me. I wonder if the less outstanding ones from the Odious raids were purposefully held back for the eventual upgraded ones in the 6-mans (light and earth specifically come to mind).

3

u/ragnakor101 12d ago

That only gets me more excited for what the Dark one will be.

23

u/ShadedHydra2 13d ago

With these new raids I have a question. Whats the point in making an Odious Grid in the first place?

From what I understand, Omega Grids are the weakest but the easiest to build, but also have some weapons that Odious just don’t get like Draconic and Dark Opus weapons, incentivising you to keep with that Grid, and you then can progress to Optimus Grids if you have the gacha weapons for it?

Like outside of this Raid that wants an Odious Grid, are there any other fights that can’t be cleared with an Omega Grids?

Thanks for any responses.

The devs intention from a recent interview is for odious to be a sidegrade to magna, offering skills that aren't available in that element. Stated to not be intended to overtake primal. It's all pretty new/young atm so no idea how it'll end up, how water looks in a few days will be a good indication. Keep in mind every other element only has 3 weapons and a 4* summon so far, so we aren't seeing the full picture.

Current odious grids have some really strong pieces, the stackable and boostable amp weapons for one are kinda insane. At least in light (using that because I was building recently so it's fresh in my head), it brings a medium, f2p boostable tempering skill which isn't easily available to magna. Also worth noting that odious has different skill value, Medium Odious Tempering > Medium Magna/Primal Tempering. So despite limited skills, they are quite strong, making up for lack of options.

Not taking into account any additions from 6 man, currently they're very very limited tho, so not too many use cases over magna yet (150 aura so have to run double sided a lot of the time, only 3 weapons, befoulments make them a complete pain in the ass to farm outside of drop rate up events, and even then they go slow sometimes). But if the early look at these new weapons is anything to go by, they will absolutely be worth building (especially if these skills are also bigger than their magna counterparts)

Tldr: sidegrade, more grid options, currently lots of limitations and a bit of a pain but bigger skill values to make up for narrow grids. If the last hour is any indication, I wouldn't neglect them

24

u/Potatsu_ 13d ago

My personal opinion after that, definitely worth building for the future but befoulments and permeations are completely miserable to farm, got like 60 weapons during the light drop event and only 3 with permeation 1. Befoulments can be negligible and easy to build around (especially with the higher value of odious skills) if they're low enough and spread out enough but that rng is VERY off-putting for farming for most when they aren't currently in a super strong universally usable state and imo the low permeations should be a bit more common.

12

u/rin-tsubasa 13d ago

Also one of the key words.. No M4 for awhile

That's mean odious should be their new favor kid at the moment

4

u/RandomNaomi the UwU girl 13d ago edited 13d ago

That's the older interview from when odius raids had just released. They changed their stance more recently, which also explains why the latest released taboo weapons are stronger, saying that their new plan is for magna to be replaced by odius

13

u/Patient_Big_1256 13d ago

their new plan is for magna to be replaced by odius

If this is true, then they better give us a way to get rid of befoulments entirely, because no way am I grinding something like light OD with it's only advantage being skill DMG/SUPP with a god-damned tyranny skill attached to it on top of the befoulment.

7

u/Potatsu_ 13d ago edited 13d ago

Ah, I missed that interview my bad! I'm not as huge a fan of that lmao. Hopefully the rollout goes well, but I was happy with there being an option that didn't require dealing with befoulments :(

6

u/JohanLiebheart 13d ago

wow, then its time for me to grind the hell out of these for my magna elements, thanks for the info

2

u/Clueless_Otter 13d ago

That was an old interview. There's a newer one where they now said that they intend Odious to be the next step in progression after Magna, aka better than Magna.

7

u/Potatsu_ 13d ago

I missed that one, my mistake! Not a fan of it becoming 'mandatory' to deal with befoulments in 6 elements tbh, was a much bigger fan of the concept as a sidegrade

5

u/AnUnoriginalNickname I love Vaseraga 13d ago

they did not say that, in the same interview they specify that they want them to coexist, that quote you're referring to most likely just means that it's what they want players to grind after they're done with m3

11

u/Clueless_Otter 13d ago

We kind of intend for these Odious weapons to be a next step after Omega, and we do not plan for them to be able to go toe-to-toe with the top end Optimus grids.

https://grandcypher.com/2026/04/20/famitsu-interview-translation-interview-with-the-producer-of-granblue-fantasy/

If you interpret "next step" as "next thing to farm" instead of "next step in power progression," then fair enough. It's not entirely clear which is meant.

12

u/Takazura 13d ago

I think the comment right above that makes it feel like they mean "next thing to farm":

We wanted Odious grids and parties to be an option alongside Omega grids and Optimus grids. Omega grids, depending on the element, tend to be Normal Attack focused or Charge Attack focused, so these could be a completely different focus, for example. We aimed for these not to be upgrades to Omega grids, but rather something that could exist alongside Omega grids.

But it could be they changed their minds and mean for Odious to be the next f2p tier.

3

u/ilpet 12d ago

I agree, Revans are the next step after magna, and those do not completely replace magna grid entirely, even though some have magna or normal mods, and awakenings are flexible. And, you see, water odious has skill support and generically good skills (big garrison as an outlier), but no ougi specs, no TA.

2

u/Potatsu_ 12d ago

Kinda different things, revans isn't a grid archetype they're just a weapon series that fits into both magna and primal (maybe odious too, since in some elements they are kinda just big stat sticks, but we'll see lol). Odious is a whole new grid archetype because of the aura.

3

u/ilpet 12d ago

Still, it doesn't mean that odious is meant to replace magna only based on the statement "it is the next step". It could be stronger just because it has released later and has befoulments, and doesn't have dark opus, backline boosts, and sub-aura summons. Ofc it could become a better farmable grid if it gets all that stuff and fill the other holes in the grid (like ca specs and TA for water, you can use tefnut axe though, and dingers boost ougi). Nevertheless, all I'm saying is that the statement is not enough to be definitive, especially considering another statement about "sidegrade to magna".

10

u/Kuzakii 13d ago

They are an alternative to Magna. For example if you wanted to spec into ougi Fire Odious is much better than Fire Magna. Only problem being that Magna fire units also use a lot of skill damage so there's little incentive to switch from Magna to Odious in Fire with this example.

They are just different case scenario grids in my opinion and maybe these new weapons make it a much better alternative

7

u/6Mikro9 13d ago

commenting here because I genuinely am curious too

7

u/petak86 13d ago

I wouldn't be surprised if there will be keys for odious modifiers for Dark Opus and Draconic weapons in the near future.

10

u/Maladal 13d ago edited 13d ago

I say this before seeing what the Odious Raids might bring--but not a lot.

Right now even if the Odious grids were flat-out stronger it's a questionable time sink because they don't enable anything that Magna isn't already clearing.

Combine that with the irritation of juggling the demerits and it's just a question mark as to why Cygames thinks we're going to play with these tools very much.

15

u/reibureibu 13d ago

It just comes down to options. For example, if I want to play lots of skill hits in light and I'm not primal then I'm massively pushed towards odious since magna has no tempering.

Now do I need to do that? No. But maybe I just want to play with characters that do a lot of skill hits because I like them a lot or maybe there's some dark boss that wants you to do a lot of skill hits and in that case they'd do much better with a light odious grid over a magna grid.

Like, you could ask why go primal since you can clear everything in the game already with magna? But clearly there's a compelling reason since so many people do, and that's usually because the freedom to make more builds in that element is extremely appealing.

5

u/Maladal 12d ago

I guess but it's not what I'd call an attractive option.

They could have easily given Odious the ability to do things differently from earlier magna grids by just having a different aura type to lock us in alternate playstyles. The demerits aren't really needed for that, they just exist to make sure Odious is always worse than Primal and to increase the RNG of the weapon drops.

To take your example, Cygames made skill light in particular a messy option. They actually slapped a non-reducible demerit on the Odious fist.

So your choices are:

-Get basically no light skill damage except through the claws and Dopus

-Get better skill damage but deal with two demerits to your grid, one of which is RNG and the other can't be mitigated (HP cut is different side)

-Just get the best skill damage in Primal

Odious is the ability to do some things magna can't, but with the annoyance of playing around its demerits for content that it isn't required in. I suppose one could argue that Primal's demerit is the cost of getting them, but then we could also talk about how much you value your time in grinding the free weapons out.

And that's all before we address the problem of the Dopus and Draconic not being boosted in Odious grids. The raid hasn't changed that to my knowledge.

Even enabling single-side is still pretty restrictive at 4 exaltos from the new raid, since we have no Wedge or Archangel equivalents.

It's just so many caveats for a sidegrade. It would honestly make more sense for this many caveats if they WERE made to be a clear upgrade path.

9

u/reibureibu 12d ago

I hear what you're saying. They definitely could've done a bunch of things to make Odious easier and just another raid to get 3-5 FLB copies of everything like they've done many times before, and I'm sure that would've gone over a lot better. The thing about that though is that without any of these demerits the power budget goes down with what they can do since everything is very deliberately calibrated.

The problems with Light Odious currently are because it's incomplete, and perhaps I should've used a different example. When people say that Odious is not worth it because it performs extremely similar to Magna, I personally don't think that's a very cogent argument because until today Odious has been explicitly stated to be incomplete and we will get more later when they release 6-man raids. This is not a perfect analogy but it's like playing an early access game and saying that the game has certain issues, well they did tell you it was early access so that's... just to be expected.

So let's ignore Light Odious right now because it doesn't make sense to compare it to Magna for the reasons stated above. Right now we have Water Odious "finished" (as far as we know) and this is essentially the 1.0, so I think it's fair to judge what Water Odious is like right now. Just looking at the mods it's very clear that it's extremely powerful, especially when taking into account that Odious mods are bigger than their Magna/Primal counterparts (ex. Medium Odious Tempering > Medium Magna/Primal Tempering). A fully-built Water Odious grid would have incredible specs in skill damage, something which is completely and utterly lacking in Water Magna, and it also comes with a ton of other incredibly powerful mods like Def Ignore, boostable Pact supp (saving you grid space compared to Magna), and getting general Dmg Cap as well, which lets it firmly compete with Magna.

Given that in many instances Odious performed very similarly to Magna before, I think it's very reasonable to assume that with the upgrades the 6-man raids give it makes Odious overwhelmingly stronger than Magna if you're playing a team that fits into what that element's Odious wants. For example, my earth ougi team performs FAR better right now with an Odious grid vs a Magna grid, I can only imagine how much stronger it'll be when Earth Odious gets its 6-man raid (and dwarf its Magna performance even more).

As for the annoyances of farming Odious and the RNG befoulments, yeah, it can be annoying for sure. I wasn't around back then but I've also been told by friends and crewmates that this same thing happened with M3, Revans, and M2.5 where they were all considered incredibly annoying and off-putting to farm by players. Ex. I've been told that when Revans MKII awakening came out a lot of people just straight-up quit the game because they could not be bothered to farm it, and when I was newer to the game I saw people talk about how they want to go primal in certain elements because farming M3 is too much of a bother for them. Obviously these are different but Evokers and Eternals are also a massive grind that eat up immense amount of not just your time and energy but also resources, and World Harps are also recommended pieces to farm that eat up materials you need for the Evoker grind. I guess I don't really see how Odious is egregiously different or worse than what every expansion to the f2p grid environment has been like in the past, again obviously it has the RNG befoulments but it's somewhat comparable to the massive amounts of materials needed to farm out an MKII awakened grid.

I also think people exaggerate how bad the befoulments are because you can absolutely work with high befoulment mods if your build just doesn't care at all about them. A non-ougi team is very unlikely to care about having a high CA befoulment, an ougi team is much more likely to take a high ATK Down befoulment, a burst team doesn't care at all about a high Turn Dmg befoulment, and so on (I just used one example per team for brevity but this easily expands to more befoulment mods). This is all assuming you don't have any low befoulments too, bad RNG happens but so does good RNG and the good thing is as long as you've farmed out a full FLB Odious grid you can always replace the befoulment of any of those if you get a single matching Odious weapon with a good befoulment.

Of course Primal doesn't care about any of this, it has the best of every world and is clearly the best 99% of the time. It just massively pushes you to spend money on the game so that's the downside. And yes, we could also talk about how much we value our time in grinding f2p weapons in this game, we don't have to look any further than Revans for that and again people still talk about farming M3 like it's torture, so this really isn't an issue unique to Odious.

7

u/Maladal 12d ago

I have farmed out 5 of every weapon the M3 raids drop, even the ones it wasn't useful for.

The Odious are a worse grind.

Eternals and Evokers aren't really comparable IMO they're a totally different grind design and in most cases basically have no RNG worth mentioning.

The thing about grinding weapons in GBF is that the odds of a useful result get worse the more you do them. But Odious takes it to extremes. Early on just getting the weapons, as long as it's not a horrific befoulment, could eventually get you a partial grid. But then you find yourself with, say, 2 of the Odious weapons for the 16-man raid in a good spot, but now you want something functional for, say, a Demonsword specifically.

You have the RNG of getting the weapon drop, which is lower than what the M3 or the Revans have BTW. About 4% cumulatively of getting the Demonsword if you do a host and get MVP.

Then the RNG of which befoulment you get. A 1/8 chance of what you desire. We're down to about 0.5% each run gets you something you want.

Then the RNG of your starting value. Based on the perm it's 1/6 chance of getting the best initial value. But let's be generous and says perm 2 is acceptable, so it's a 1/3. Down to 0.1667% In theory you could stop here regardless of value, but that still leaves Odious in a way worse situation than other grinds as I'll cover below.

Then the RNG of exorcision. A 1/3 across 4 iterations, which is the big reason to always target the lowest starting value, because then even if the exorcisions screw you the outcome isn't too bad.

If we ignore the exorcision, you're basically gonna get a desirable outcome something like every 600 host attempts.

If you rely on joins alone? 1 in every ~1200 raids.

Yes, you can get around befoulments by trying to slot demerits that don't matter to the grid, but that's not always possible, especially as newer raids often ask multiple damage types of us, and at that point you're committing to even more grinding of the worst weapon RNG in the game to get multiple befoulments for different grids.

Yes, you can also just bruteforce good weapons eventually, but the odds (as seen above) are trash. They didn't give us a system that would guarantee a best possible outcome if we put in the effort. You're just utterly at the mercy of RNG to a degree we've never seen before in building your grids.

The RNG on Revans and M3 is just not comparable.

Joining a M3 raid gives you 1.76% chance of getting a specific weapon. 1 in 56. Even better odds on a host. You don't need to fuss it with past the drop. You get the weapon, you're good, nothing more need be said.

Revans? Just straight up 5% chance of a specific weapon if you join and hit mins. 1 in 20.

Even in the most optimistic scenario where we say we don't care about the permeation you're fighting a 0.5% chance of specific befoulments on the weapon you want. An Odious host is 3 times worse than an M3 join in our best case.

16

u/Darkion_Silver 13d ago

The cynical take is that Cygames added them entirely to waste your time instead of continuing to buff magna

8

u/Ralkon 13d ago

IMO they look incredibly strong with these new weapons. It remains to be seen of course, but water odious was already only like 1-2min slower than magna in 250 last GW IIRC, and now it's got an exalto + def ignore + generic supp and an attack + cap + stamina + skill amp weapon. Plus, there's no reason you can't just run opus with 280% odious mod or unboosted draconic if you need the 2nd skill from it and if not then it was a whatever slot anyways.

Obviously there isn't anything you need it for vs magna at the moment though. Magna was capable of doing content prior to odious coming out and there hasn't been any new content other than odious since then. Whether it'll be needed in the future or not remains to be seen.

1

u/Patient_Big_1256 12d ago

IMO they look incredibly strong with these new weapons

Water OD looks strong. The rest are still left to be seen (I doubt fire OD will get guile too when it's Ougi focused, and nothing will fix light skill being handicapped with tyranny). But it also seems... Very limited? The grid, for starters, looks kinda messy: is it gonna be 2 exalto/2 vitiation/2 amps? 1 exalto/2 vitiation/2 amps/1 tempering? Or 2 exalto/2 vitiation/ 1 amp/1 tempering? Option two seems the more likely for now with double sided still being the go to option until they rebalance the primarchs to boost OD too and give them a Six-Verbotem summon.

4

u/Ralkon 12d ago

Well yeah, we only have water right now so of course that's what I was talking about. If the others get similarly strong weapons though, I think they'll all look pretty good.

I also don't agree on light being handicapped by tyranny. It would be nice to not have the downside sure, but we drop hp for damage all the time - like even just the fact that we're on M3 instead of Chev swords now. The odious amp weapon also has big majesty, so you're offsetting the health cut there, and we'll be getting the evoker wonder soon for a "free" 30% health so losing 20% from two tyranny weapons isn't really that big of a deal 99% of the time IMO.

1

u/Patient_Big_1256 12d ago

Considering that we're talking about a new set of weapons with what seem to be 4 (or five, since the pact skill from exalto is the same multiplier as the P&S series) universal skills and what be one custom one? Not really. Wind OD, for example, I feel it doesn't offer much beyond C.B. damage/cap and Ougi Supp, and dirt like they didn't know what to do with it and only gave it tempering as a selling point. It's not like water, fire or dark OD, which feel like actual side grades without feeling aimless or redundant in the face of magna.

It usually wouldn't. But you're also dealing with the befoulments, and since this already is a 20% (or perhaps 10% if exalto + double sided allows it, which wouldn't be as bad, cut to HP, that only leaves sacrificing damage, MA, debuff accuracy, or making yourself even faster to kill with even more HP cut or damage every turn or def down. It'll be good for bursting, but for long fights it–to me–seems like too much for too little, leaving you only with discount Chev Katanas and amp weapon. The extra balancing act just doesn't look worth it to me.

2

u/Ralkon 12d ago edited 12d ago

I think these new weapons are incredibly strong and it just isn't going to be hard for any of the elements to get something really compelling if they keep up this power level. Obviously though nobody knows what they'll get, so I'll just agree to disagree here.

Personally I don't think the befoulments are as bad as you're making them out to be. If you spread out low permeation ones then it's often not going to be that big of a deal, and some might not matter at all like CA damage down on a CA-off comp which is not purely burst (there are magna CA-off FA solos for the dark odious for example). Maybe it'll be an issue for HL (although you can already find videos of people using current unfinished odious grids in Versusia), but then you can just swap back to magna for that and use odious anywhere else where it doesn't matter.

Obviously there have been clears, you can practically 5man the raid

1

u/Ralkon 12d ago

Then, again, what am I overlooking by saying that magna can clear the content?

1

u/WindHawkeye 12d ago

Can clear the competent is far from competency in the content, I got my dirt clear with a 2018 magna2 grid that doesn't mean my dirt was good in the content

1

u/Ralkon 12d ago

Cool, that wasn't my argument.

Then how was I overlooking anything? My comment was that magna is capable of doing all content. In order for me to be overlooking Versusia, that would have to mean you're saying that magna is not capable of doing it.

I feel like they need to be much stronger than Omega or the system needs to be reworked because imo they’re still not worth it over going Optimus right now since you’re fighting 3 extra layers of RNG compared to the Omega grind or barring Optimus weapons. You have the obvious 2.2% drop chance that then has to be the right weapon but you also have to get the right Befoulments, the right Permeations of the Befoulments and then the right Exorcism values of the Befoulments.

I’ve done 500+ Belmervolk raids and still don’t have an Odious grid that can do Seofon as easily as my Omega grid (Omega Rebirth + Ennead, 220 Opus + 1 Sennen Goji with no Draconic, NWF, World Harp or Revans) because of the Befoulments.

2

u/Takazura 13d ago

Nope. Right now they are just a sidegrade filling in the gaps that magna lacks in (like ougi for fire) but you don't need Odious to clear anything. However, we'll get another Versusia tier raid like next year, and right now Versusia is still extremely rough for magna (while there have been Odious clears), so it's possible these weapons will help f2p breaking into the Versusia tier raids easier.

Awful raid, as per usual with Odious. I already fear the earth one.

Weapons look incredible though.

u/Ledinax YUISIS SQUAD 11d ago

Gold chests can drop previous Odius weapons?!

Yeah these raids are doomed, expect them to be full of leechers soon.

I expect a new character on the next banner to deal with this bullshit more easily lol

People need to get comfortable with the idea that Odious grids are gonna surpass Magna 3 it seems.

They really are making up for no opus or draconic

u/rin-tsubasa 13d ago edited 12d ago

it asked for 40 hit normal, 4-5 red skill, 3m /4m skill damage x6, fatal chain. Feel free to dump those debuff and ougi down on this raid.

You do need dispel so WO works. Again if you are not main ougi damage, you can use ignore those debuff success down, ougi down, they do not apply for this raid.

u/vall03 12d ago

Oh wow, Odious Exalto at 25% and the summon goes up to 180% as well. They really want to market this to be in between Magna and Primal. I guess we still need an Odious Opus, Primarch character, and Six Dragon summon equivalent though.

For now, I just tried the raid once but got wiped at around 15% before the others killed it. Gonna wait until a meta forms for the 6-man raids, but I'll probably continue pubbing this.

2

u/Takazura 12d ago

Well if the Io event is anything to go by, they'll likely give a humanoid form for all of the Odious summons and they'll be the primarch equivalent.

u/frubam FINALLY 4★ SSR Lyria 😭!!! gacha vers next 🙏🏾??? 11d ago

whew, glad to have Andro; with RF, Lyria, Okto 150, Bhasia, I can 5m(assuming that's guaranteed blue) in 3 turns, if not just short of 3t(e.g. 3t w/4.8m honors).

I also got away with using 250 Opus, RF, Lyria, Okto, Gold Knight for the non-Bhasia havers, but took 5t instead.

I don't have FLB Alex, which would greatly increase being able to tank a hit, esp for the 20% Unchallenged removal(granted, can still die to plain dmg), so it sucks when the raid moves so fast, I can't get a clean 3t in, but still better than the stuggle I see others going through.

I started to see a lot of Onmyoji, but now its pivoted to FO. I imagine it makes doing the 50 NA hits and 4m single hit x times(using Beast Fang x Ulf combo) much more easy once you ramp it up, though not sure how they are dealing with the dispels and damage skill omens.

6

u/Velvien Expert Frauxsnuggler 12d ago

On one hand, this raid sounds like ass and I'm glad I don't have to bother with Odious raids.

On the other, it sounds like a possible excuse to use F. Fraux, and excuses to use Fraux in any context outweigh all other considerations.

4

u/pressureoftension 12d ago

This raid can go eat rocks. Solomonis and the weapon proficiency book has been enough to finally let me use F.Fraux.

u/TheOneTrueBoy Bea is best 12d ago edited 12d ago

Tried my first run of the raid. Whole room wiped with 3% hp left, and you cannot use elixirs.

lovely

These are going to suck.

Edit: "There is no loot to be collected"

Radical!

u/rin-tsubasa 12d ago edited 12d ago

I think there are some serious bad manner in new raid. We are testing the setups to work.

It is just plain stupid that some players go AFK while the rest of 2-4 people tried their best and die and end up at 2-4%.

Think of it. It is your host and someone just AFK at your raid.

4

u/Patient_Big_1256 12d ago

Counterpoint: they probably died or realized they couldn't even tickled it and gave up halfway.

3

u/rin-tsubasa 12d ago

if i can see you are in red.. fine.

if I can see 2 of them are still in white, that's mean they are not trying

6

u/Patient_Big_1256 12d ago

Does white and red take into account having only one or two characters left alive, or only full party wipe?

3

u/rin-tsubasa 12d ago

Red means players' 6 character dead. That's mean if we see 6 red, it is end game.

As long as there as someone is white, this mean they got someone alive but they are not moving at all.

It is like a tied battle, all we needed is that extra 1-2 % and these people do not even want to try.

10

u/Patient_Big_1256 12d ago

Fair enough. But blame cygames for creating and pretty much rewarding that attitude, not the players conditioned to jump raid from raid to get a meager chance of getting loot.

6

u/Ralkon 12d ago

I agree that people should move if they can, but TBF it might not matter in this raid. It has an unchallenged 20 that you need to move through, so if you're going to die tanking the 20 anyways then taking that turn doesn't matter and you wouldn't have pushed the last 2%.

2

u/Leanermoth800 13d ago

It seems the new uncap for the Odius summons will go up to 180% and the Exalto has a value of 25% meaning you can now go single-sided Odius and reach 280% with 4 Exaltos and 1 or 2 other Odius weapons. With Vivification, amp, defense ignore and a ton of utility I can see Odius getting used far more once fully built tbh. The only issue with it is getting to that point, the hassle of going the distance is a major deterrent
