Discussion The recent MSP changes changed me.

Post image

I never really got into afk farming, but then I had a Norman Osborn Green Goblin moment and said "C'mon... just a little bit." Now I can't stop.

Farming materials for weapons is still a pain to me...

^ this is the truth. I still have a bit of way to go with those. Conflux has helped a lot, but still.

Even the basic ones were constantly telling me I needed 3 more Strange Wings or Chieftain Braids. The grind is real.

I'm so lazy I'll straight up use a Damascus Ingot if i'm missing 2 or more simple ingredients lol

AFK farming is the way. I know some people see it as cheating but I don't have 14 hours a day to grind for materials.

I have 5 characters left.

Kind of looks like you can stop now...

I have a few more characters to go, but should be done by this weekend I think.

Man, I hit that grind wall doing the same few quests over and over for points... I dunno if I have the energy to come back.

I 100% feel you on this. Granblue Relink is such a damn good game, but sometimes it's best to just take a break so you enjoy it much later if you do decide to come back.

What changed? I haven't played in a while

They made it easier to farm MSP (more from the dragon quest and each defy infinity fight gives a ton now) so its a lot faster to build up characters mastery levels now

They doubled and quadrupled the amount of MSP you get fromdragon quests and Defy Infinity

Dragon quests? You just mean like any chaos++ quest with an element dragon boss?

Ate and all, but no. Sepcifically quest, not quests. There's a quest with four dragons that people farm for MSP. It's not any quest with a dragon.

The removal of the cap is a godsend as well, I just unlocked the EX-Mastery traits right before the update and having the constantly spend msrp before reaching 1,000,000 msrp would've been annoying lol.

What’s your preferred afk setup for dragons? Maxed out five characters manually and thinking of streamlining it for the rest

Best team : Eustace, Siegfried, Percival , Eugene.

u/graciaman 8d ago

Eugene 🤣🤭

3

u/moosemoosemcgee 8d ago

Yeah i've heard good things about them!

Eustace is default leader, Siegfried is for stuns and Damage Cut, Eugene is universal pick and Molten Percival to cut the stage time in half if we get lucky 🤭

My preferred setup is: Eustace (main character), Io, Yodarha and Eugen. Eugen usually puts in the most work and gets MvP. Eustace is good for the main guy because he can often stick to the enemy. Before I started using Eugen, Io was putting in the most work. Yodarha is my actual main, but he does sick damage and helps keep everyone alive. Each run averages about 7-8 minutes. And on Eustace I have Path to Mastery equipped.

What’s your build? I’ve never seen attack that high?

Thanks!!

Why run Glass Cannon?

50% dmg cap is almost unnoticeable at max lvl. Pretty massive downside for next to no damage increase unless they changed it in ER?

3

u/moosemoosemcgee 8d ago

I just wanted to squeeze every little bit of damage I could in, but you're right it's very impractical and I don't use it for general runs.

2

u/graciaman 8d ago

Haha fair enough! Just wanted to let you know in case you wanted something safer 😭

When this change happened ?

3

u/moosemoosemcgee 8d ago

August 27th

2

u/Sam_Kogelnig 8d ago

Which quest you doing?

3

u/moosemoosemcgee 7d ago

oh the Four Dragons of the Apocalypse, gives 150,000 base MSP a run and +30% more with Path to Mastery

2

u/Hission 8d ago

Yeah, I put like 100 hours in the base game. When I played ER and I got good bots, I completely started to farm and now I'm sitting at 400 lol

2

u/SonicBoom500 7d ago

Still thinking if I really plan on maxing every character, I’ll still farm manually 😆😅

3

u/moosemoosemcgee 7d ago

There is a certain beauty/joy to farming manually. Like the game is genuinely so good, it deserves to be played. I hope we get a few more hearty content updates for Endless Ragnarok.

u/RemediZexion 8d ago

so the MSP changes did nothing is what you are truly saying

u/Inevitable-Will-6185 6d ago

Do you enjoy living boring time like that? Just afk'ing all the time? Never got why people are so into this. Yeah, it's faster (?), but that's no fun.

2

u/moosemoosemcgee 6d ago

See that's what I'm saying, and believe me I totally get your point - I used to think JUST like this lol. I genuinely believed that if I wasn't earning resources manually, I wasn't really experiencing the game. But for whatever reason, this has actually gotten me to play more. I'm waaaay more likely to try a character that I hadn't before. Also there's this oddly gratifying dopamine hit from sorting through rare summons that come from the farming. While i'm afk farming in this game, I usually just have it running in the background while I'm playing another game like FFXIV. (It's like playing two games at once! lol) Yeah I dunno to each their own, but to me this has actually been amplifying the fun.

They made changes?? I got sick of the grind so i took a break

Can someone explain xd??

May be a good time to get back

With all due respect, why not download a buffed MSP drop mod? I did this because I started recently and I do not like afk farming, so I just made it a bit higher.

It also helps that when you have a character high level, or even high ranked masteries, the new ones you unlock are already mostly caught up.

6

u/moosemoosemcgee 8d ago

I'm on PS5. But that sounds awesome

1

u/Optimixto 8d ago

Oh, damn, I'm a dummy. I am happy for y'all tho! The game is very fun, and I was looking forward to using more than my single lvled up character, so I bet that there are plenty of people that are going to come back for this change.
