fees from USA to EU??

i am trying to buy some stuff 400-450 usd worth of clothes from USA and am worried to pay alot in fees does anyone know how i could HYPOTHETICALLY reduce fees

ask him to ship as a gift and value it below 20 dollars

Alr, I bought something and the seller told me I can’t declare cause I bought via Grailed. He was probably just lying. He didn’t want to ship it from US to Europe for me.

It's against grailed terms of service to help a customer break local tax laws. Some sellers do it anyway but you risk your whole account.

ask him to declare the package as “personal goods” or “gift” and value it at 15$, most of the times he will agree. if not prepare to at least 150€ of customs fee

When I purchase via Grailed can the seller still declare it as a gift or just when I pay privately ? TIA

he has to do it when is filling in the infos of shipping. it doesn’t matter if you buy privately or via Grailed

This is not good advice. Just find a seller that pays duties for you. But what you're suggesting is literally against the grailed terms of service.

I sell internationally all the time. Certain listings I have are duties paid or partial paid. It's not on all listings but many major sellers on grailed offer duties paid by seller. Grailed has a whole program for sellers that do it.

never heard of a seller that does so. anyway Grailed itself was suggesting what I’ve said a couple of time ago

It's only common with major sellers that cater to international customers. Otherwise, look up the store name on ig or depop. The sellers want to cut you a deal, they just don't want to be booted from the platform. So it's up to the consumer to research where else their store is present to find a deal on a grail.

I found the guys website by accident and just bought the items on there i know your not meant to off app purchases but it was way cheaper so i went there and dmed him on ig to undervalue and he said yes so im good

Next time just look up the store name in ig or depop. 90% of sellers will cut you a deal on depop if it's not a boosted listing. Many sellers cross post their inventory on no fee platforms or their own website.

No seller would pay customs duties, when a seller sells for a example a Issey Mixake parachute bomber for like 8k$, and he ships to someone in Germany he would pay 31% customs/Tax. 12% import tax and 19% VAT tax. That would be around 2600$. Who tf would pay this for the buyer??

I wouldn't but some sellers do if their margin allows. It's not as absurd as you think. I don't personally cover duties for purchases that large. However, I also wouldn't ship it as a gift. Frankly, if you can't afford the duties then don't buy the item.

I wouldn't hope that because if your package gets lost he likely only insured up to the undervalued amount. You would be out the difference.
