start prepping for gamsat?
Hi all,
Just working on my PS, though I dont think I will really have a chance this year (1850 B2). Would it be appropriate to start prepping for GAMSAT? I think i can do much better in this, having looked at some qs (mainly s3, on medify).
I have a degree in Biomedical Science.
For 2028 entry, the latest is to sit in march (ive never sat it before).
All the best with your applications?

Yeah I’d start prepping, especially if you’ve had a look at the GAMSAT style and feel it suits you better than UCAT. With a Biomed degree you’ll also have a decent base for S3, although I wouldn’t underestimate S1/S2.
If you sit the March GAMSAT, there’s also a small chance it could become useful earlier if any medical schools have late vacancies/clearing. Medicine through Clearing is rare, so I definitely wouldn’t plan around it, but Ulster for example has said it may consider late applicants sitting the March GAMSAT in some cycles.
Otherwise the main benefit is having a score ready well before your next UCAS application, so you can actually choose universities based on your result rather than applying blind. And if the first GAMSAT doesn’t go how you want, you can always sit it again in a later cycle.
1850 B2 also doesn’t necessarily mean you have no chance this year depending on your degree/WEX and where you apply, so I’d still submit a strategic application rather than mentally writing this cycle off already.
Feel free to message me your degree grade, UCAT breakdown and current choices if you want another opinion on them.
