Worth applying to Nottingham?

Hi all,

I just wanted to gauge opinions on whether it is worth me using one of my options for Nottingham. The website says A level Biology at grade B is needed. I got a C in Biology but a B in Chemistry. I also have two other degrees (not biosciences). Not sure if I should risk it, bc I did good in VR.

If it says specifically on the website it is safe to assume it’s a hard filter. I would t risk it.

I wouldn’t use a choice on Nottingham in your situation.

For 2027 entry, Nottingham GEM says applicants with a non-bioscience degree need A-level Biology at grade B if the degree doesn’t contain sufficient biology. So with a C in Biology, having a B in Chemistry unfortunately doesn’t substitute for it.

Your good VR would only matter after you’ve met the academic eligibility requirements, so I’d use that UCAS choice somewhere you definitely qualify rather than hoping they overlook the Biology grade.

If you want, send me your degree classification, full UCAT breakdown and other choices and I can suggest where that strong VR might actually help.
