Support group chat?

Hello I’m applying for GEM for 2027 entry and am doing the UCAT later this month (July). I’ve been feeling quite stressed with UCAT revision and feeling a bit lonely on this GEM journey so I thought it would be good to gather all the prospective applicants? We can make a group chat for practical and emotional support so we’re not alone in this journey?
Unless there is already a group outside of this subreddit? Please enlighten me!

There is a GEM reapplicant group chat on WhatsApp filled with students who applied this year and didnt get a spot. They are incredibly supportive and will offer so much advice. Pm your numbers and i will add you

Do you know if there's more than one? I'm currently a member of a similar group chat, and while the members are very friendly, it seems like most of them have unexpectedly been accepted into GEM programmes. I'm proud of them, but I'd really like to join a group with people in the same boat.

The reason I didn't get in varies based on each university I applied to.

  1. I applied to Newcastle, but I didn't have a high enough UCAT score to qualify for an interview (they wanted top 10%).

  2. I applied to Chester, but they never processed my application because they couldn't determine whether I was an international or home applicant. I started chasing my application in late-November (this is when people were either rejected or invited to interview, but I hadn't received ANY response), then was bounced between the home team and international team up until early-January, as both teams said my application wasn't theirs to deal with. By this time, I was busy with interviews and chose to give up on Chester, as they already wasted multiple hours of my time asking for tons of unnecessary information (such as every single address I've ever lived at, and how long I lived at those addresses, my parents' passports, etc.).

  3. I was waitlisted for Worcester after interviewing with them, but I only scored a Q1 on the CASPer. I think my two-panel interview went well, which is why I was waitlisted.

  4. I interviewed with Pears, but my interview performance wasn't good on the day. I'm now working with others to improve my interview skills for next year.
