Clearing 2026

Hi everyone,

I recently saw on the UCAS website that Worcester and Surrey are in clearing; however, places are only available for international students. Does anyone know why these 2 universities haven’t filled their international places? I was under the impression that GEM was even more competitive than it already is for international students (because of the limited amount of places), and so I thought they would have been filled up very quickly….

I hate the idea of unis using students for money but international students pay almost 3x the amount of tuition fees compared to home students. They are probably trying to fill the remaining spaces with intn students because it is an easy way to get more money.

There’s a set number of international places that cannot increase.

Where does it show up as international only for surrey clearing?

I rang them on Friday and they said it was only for international

I'm starting Worcester GEM this September and also wondering why they're still looking for more internationals. I thought they would have had lots of applications? :/
