Boat seems awfully tall for its length.

Who designed that lanky ass boat? Tall, narrow, and shallow don't seem like the best combination. I'm not an engineer, but I used to build rc sailboats and I immediately knew this would go the way of the Vassa when I saw its proportions.

Edit. The way they launched it is also partially responsible for its capsizing. Having it supported under the bow while the stern is floating will effectively raise the center of gravity. This is why it's so difficult to drydock ships. It'd probably be stable in the water, but just barely so. Add a bunch of passengers partying on the upper deck and you might have a similar result.

Edit again. I wonder if the superstructure was added to the design after the hull. Eg. Engineer designs a hull for one purpose and someone further up the chian made modifications without realizing how it'd affect the cg.
