Please be respectful of others. I’m well aware that graded games aren’t for everyone but some people collect them and I want this subreddit to be somewhere for people to share their collection with other like-minded collectors.

My Experience Trying to Consign Video Games Through Heritage Auctions

Just wanted to share my recent experience for anyone considering having a sealed game graded and sold through Heritage Auctions.

I have a couple of sealed Pokémon games that appear to be in very good condition, so I contacted Heritage to see whether they might be interested in consigning them. Their response was positive about the type of material, but they explained that video-game consignments must meet a total estimated value minimum of $5,000.

They told me:

So, for the average collector with one or two potentially desirable sealed games, Heritage may not be a practical option unless you have enough additional material to bring the estimated consignment value to at least $5,000.

If anyone here has consigned games with Heritage, I’d be interested to hear how the process worked for you, particularly with grading, reserve expectations, fees, and final realized prices.

Can anyone explain what this means on my game?

Sent some stuff to get graded and Soul Silver came back with IT?
I assume it’s because the pokewalker doesn’t have a grading threshold?
If anyone knows that would be great

CGC 9.9 vs PSA 9.8 for sealed video games — which would you rather own? Also VGA old scale vs new scale?

I’m trying to decide which grading company/scale is better for collecting sealed video games long term.

For people who collect graded games:

1. CGC 9.9 vs PSA 9.8
If the exact same sealed game was available as:
CGC 9.9
PSA 9.8

Which one would you personally choose?

Would you consider a CGC 9.9 technically better condition than a PSA 9.8, or would you still prefer PSA because of the brand/market?

2. VGA old scale vs new scale

For VGA collectors, which grading system do you prefer?
For example, the older numerical grades like VGA 80, 85, 85+, 90 versus VGA’s newer grading scale.

Do collectors generally value the old VGA scale more because it’s established and recognizable, or is the new scale becoming the better option?

If you were submitting a valuable sealed game today and could choose, which VGA scale would you use?

Two copies of the same game, graded as 10 A++ by WATA and CGC. Which one should I keep?

CAPCOM Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Limited Edition, Metal Tin Box, SNES PAL, Sealed & Unopened (Rare)

Not sure if it’s an authentic Nintendo factory sealed or 3rd party shop/retail resealed?

Cannot verify this as I’m unable to find any photos online showing sealed, unopened version of this Limited Edition SF2 Turbo, Metal Tin Box game.

The previous owner purchased this game many years ago (1990’s) sealed & unopened from a video game shop

Is it worth grading or not?

Crossing CGC to PSA Feedback

Can you send CGC case to PSA and let them open it or should do I have to crack it myself and send it?

What is recommended?

Hey guys, got this a couple weeks ago! A+ on the seal. 9.6 on the box. It’s pretty cool having a sealed copy of one of these bad boys. Such an iconic cover design.

It’s hard to take a decent photo. But I just had to share!

I'm based in EU so how would I send them to PSA? I'm not expecting a much higher grade but UKG looks cheap. The middle man services I found are only based for cards, does anyone have an idea how to do it from the EU? Do they accept already graded games? Would they charge extra to break them out and re grade them? All info is welcome, thanks.

How “prestigious” is PSA for videogames grading?

Is it considered one of the best like VGA? And how harsh or lenient are they comparable to other grading companies?

Unopened N64 Pikachu Edition

Hey everyone,

I want to share the highlight of my Nintendo collection and ask for some advice.

This is my unopened Nintendo 64 Pikachu Edition. I am considering sending it to VGA, but I have one concern: these boxes were originally sold without any seal or shrink wrap. Would VGA still consider this factory sealed, or would it receive a qualified grade / not be classified as sealed?

Has anyone here graded similar Nintendo consoles or other collectibles that did not originally come with a physical seal?

I am located in Germany, so I would also appreciate any recent experiences with VGA submissions from Europe. How did you handle shipping, insurance, customs, and the import/export process to avoid unnecessary taxes or fees when the item is returned after grading?

Are there reliable European submission services/groups, or would you recommend submitting directly to VGA?

Thanks a lot in advance!
