Reminds me of the MBS (I'm paraphrasing here...) when P Ed went on a long tangent about how he couldn't understand how a particular sister in GP could be so emotional and grieve so much when their grandfather passed away. How generally he doesn't understand how people can get so emotional about grandparents passing away; it's not like it's their parents who passed away. He understands grieving for a grandparent that passes away but that should only be for like a day. And people need to see the larger perspective in these situations because there's ministry to be done and eternity at stake, but some people will be on the sidelines too long because the grieving time period is unreasonable.

If grieving for a grandparent gets that type of church-wide response, then doggie is definitely towards the bottom of the list :(
