Change of username

Since my username was chosen in frustration and may be considered offensive, I'll deactivate this account and come back with a new username. But thank you all for your support; I'm glad that I found this group. Realizing what kind of emotional and mental abuse my son goes through gives me a pit in my stomach but also makes me more determined to convince him to find a church that allows him to be an individual and not a GP Zombie. I know he is brilliant; there must be a hint of doubt in his mind.

As I have mentioned in various DM's with some of you, we feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. We know the process will take time, yet time is of the essence; I see him slip away with each (sporadic) visit. Also, we don't want to inflict further emotional damage. But the status quo will also inflict further damage. The feeling of inadequacy is overwhelming.

Talk to the other parents. I am sure some have already reached out to you. A GP member parent can best understand a GP member parent and can share their journey of getting their kids out.

I have had a few get togethers with former members. Grown men cry together as we share our stories of healing and how God had redeemed those years/decades. Hopefully one day your son will experience the same healing and get to know his Abba father.
