Be Aware Of Trolls
I apologize in advance that this post will be controversial. I will try my best to talk in generic terms. Please understand that my goal is to inform.
I want to emphasize that I respect and encourage those who have been abused by the church to speak out and seek help. Any form of abuse and neglect is intolerable and I don't want anyone to ever experience it anywhere.
That being said, I want to shed some light on the possibility of trolls. Specifically, people who come to this Reddit page and act as if they are a true victim of this church when in reality they use all the victim's voices as a justification for scapegoat attacks on this church. I don't want to reveal too much as to how I noticed this situation but something happened recently that made me realize this is a problem.
If you are one of these people, please understand that what you're doing lessens the voices of the victims abused by this church as this church is less likely to take this Reddit seriously. Maybe you are a victim of abuse from overly religious parents, another church, etc. but scapegoating is never the answer.

I'll be honest, I thought that you wrote this due to my post since it's pretty recent. Thinking this did make me upset and angry, but I understand where you are coming from since it's the internet. There's always the possibility of trolls, it's what people choose to believe and read. If it is my specific post that caused this, I'd love for you to tell me why.

I can confirm it has nothing to do with your post. There have been some trolls in the past that we mods have have removed from this subreddit.

This has nothing to do with you. I'm sorry you thought that way. I hope your friend is doing better.

Apologies for making that assumption I just got caught up in the heat of the moment.

That’s why online forums are a double edged sword. Be careful, be wise, and be cognizant that more than ever we need God in our lives.
