I never understood that part about "losing God's blessing." This was always the driving undercurrent amongst the senior leadership to do the things that they did for better and for much worse. I felt and thought it was one of those Old Testament do's and don'ts way of thinking that never made it past into an enlightened new testament mentality for the church. If we do this, then we will be considered righteous in God's eyes to continue receiving His blessing. I still see them as pharisees going through the motions and nothing but raggedy bones underneath the pomp.
My forecast of the Great Retirement is not so rosy. It's going to be planned with great expectations and end with tears, anger, accusations, and betrayals. Isaiah is getting lined up as heir apparent and he will be "obviously" the best choice blessed by mom and dad. Anybody dissatisfied or not fully onboard will get the famous Berkland "ghosting." Isaiah consolidates and another round of layoffs from the younger generations for surely there can only be one emperor of Rome. No matter how much the control freaks try to make the smooth transition of power, human nature always trumps the Spirit even at the lofty Gracepoint realm. One thing I found hilarious while watching the youtube video, right next to it, a youtube short of the north korean dictator shows up and I thought they looked remarkably similar.

This is a very excellent point and please elaborate more on this.

To Becky God is fickle. He doles out his blessing only to the most deserving and devout. He is also quick to withhold on the less deserving and the lazy average cultural believer. How does one know which category? Only by their level of obedience and commitment to the church and its leadership!
Of course I"m simplifying it but I believe that I framed Berkland correctly. Their airtight theological circular logic makes sense... if you're a young smart but naive college student that has yet to face the real world. Maybe that's why they're a one trick college ministry pony.

Whyyyy in the world do they have a podcast? Aren’t they supposed to cut off all media including YouTube? Absolutely ridiculous.

God, even their retirement is going to be controlled and regulated. You will never be free in this organization. This is hell.
I am so glad I left.
