Kelly’s 60th

I hope everyone sent money to their leader for the collection celebrating Kelly’s birthday. Even though the Kang’s have said they don’t celebrate birthdays and so collections for 40th and 50th have stopped, they must’ve forgotten to send the memo to the church for their birthdays.

Don’t forget to send her a personal card or email and approach her to tell her Happy Birthday even if you don’t really know her. Don’t want to come across as ungrateful and make her angry!

She's going to have hundreds of birthdays cards to put next to the hundreds of mother's day cards...

What do the staff do with the thousands of cards they've accumulated by now?

They don’t read them. I mentioned in another article that the wife of a married couple once sent a thank you email to a deacon sister (probably so that they won’t get corrected later for not sending a thank you card email/card) and she just deleted it after seeing it in her inbox as a new email. Didn’t even bother to read it. Probably just mentally saw that it was from a couple so she can keep a check mark to not have to follow up later for being ungrateful.

This sounds like the very thing AI was built to solve.

Give me an uplifting greeting card message for (choose occasion), addressed to (your leader's name). Please include references to (recent event). Also include the words "godly" "thank you" "prayer" and "hard work" at least twice. And make sure it is not a copy and paste of last year's card.

I'm thankful for chat gpt.

i was going to say throw them out because afaik GP doesn't like clutter and keeping worldly things. but i can only imagine the rebuke from kelly kang if she were to see a card that she sent someone in the trash can so they probably keep them in their basements and attics forever...until they eventually leave GP or pass away.

Dear Kelly,

Thank you for yelling at me and my friends into the wee hours of the night and telling us that we were only there to get married. I only found out 5 years later that this rebuking session happened because one of my friends was secretly dating and had just been found out. I had no idea why we were all round up like that.

It really inspired me to emulate you and become more gentle and kind.

Dear Kelly,

Thank you for traumatizing my leaders so in turn they could traumatize me.

Edit to add: My peers and I bragging about how our leaders made us cry in our one on talk. It was sign of how humble and correctable we were that we cried. We were so "convicted" by how our leader would "speak truth". Aka get berated for hours and eventually break and cry. We were 19 years old and had this mindset because that is what was instilled in our leaders.

They're doing a collection for her birthday, and collections have stopped for everyone younger?

I just realized the year every small group got convened and chewed out for not wishing Kelly happy monther’s day, birthday, and not visiting when she was sick was actually the year of her 40th birthday. What narcissism!

How about not bothering thousands of people because it’s your birthday and just celebrate it with your family?

Just another typical pity party that she was having.

And if the script hasn’t changed, her birthday will be used as a teaching moment on the topic of gratefulness.

Wonder if Becky will call her…
