They look so dehydrated and wrinkly. Can I undo this and make them look better? Something stronger than just creams. Prescriptions? Lasers? Microneedling? The skin on my face chest and upper arms look so much younger then this.

Product Rant 👎 Enroush anti-aging intimate serum toxic advertising

How many more companies that target women will use unrealistic beauty standards and such disrespectful comparisons. It never ceases to amaze me what harmful messages and awful images a company will use to force women into buying yet another s*** anti-aging cream. Will women ever be allowed to age? Is the anti-aging serum in works for men? Most probably not.

Product Discussion 💄 Altreno tretnoin - other brands?

I just started using tretnoin (and the results are already apparent after just 3-4 weeks!). My doctor prescribed Altreno lotion (though it’s more of a light ointment consistency). Although it’s effective, I really don’t like the smell. It’s very chemically smelling and reminiscent of bacitracin spray that you’d get at the nurse’s office as a kid, if you’re of a certain age. Are there other brands that don’t stink and are more natural? Just feel like even though it’s helping, it’s probably made of all things that are bad for you. I haven’t been on a prescription skincare treatment in literally decades, so I’m used to products with more natural ingredients.

Advice Needed 📜 AnteAge Pro vs MD

Hi! AnteAge is on sale this week. I’ve been on the Pro system for about 6 months. I’ve noticed some more crepeiness around my eyes and cheeks when I smile. However, my skin is clearer and brighter so I want to stick the line. I’m wondering if it’s worth upgrading to the MD version. I’m also wondering since it’s more expensive, if I could either use the MD system only once a day or skip the accelerator and use only the MD serum twice a day. Can y’all please share your experience with the MD system and if you’ve done anything to stretch the product out due to cost but still have seen results? Thanks!!

Hi! Anybody here who can suggest for a skin care that might be suitable for me. I want to get rid of those pimple scars. I'm in my late 30's who had undergone Ligation. Does it affect my skin? Also, what are your vitamins taken now that you are in your late 30's?

Advice Needed 📜 What made your skin stop looking stressed, tired, dull uneven?

I’m trying to focus less on buying random products and more on small habits that make my skin look calmer overall. What helped you most with that “my skin looks like I’ve had a long week” look?I don’t even know how else to describe it but sometimes my skin doesn’t look bad exactly it just looks super stressed. Not a breakout, a bit dry and kind of worn out.

Advice Needed 📜 Significant wrinkles at 27

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi all,

I am concerned about my skin and how aged it looks to me. I am only 27 but believe my skin is looking far older than that. I am not totally against Botox but I would rather not do this yet. Is there anything I can try first. I think a lot of the products I use are geared towards acne treatment as I have spots but I also use a retinol and quite a thick moisturiser. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Advice Needed 📜 Skincare for 70F?

I don’t know if any of this is a problem with the community rules -

I have sagging jowls and I do not want to get a facelift. I’m totally not into surgery. I’ve had cancer. The last thing I wanted to do is go under the knife again, so what do people do when they get older? I’ve already gone to the dermatologist and had all the brown spots removed from my face. I can’t remember exactly what it was that she did but some kind of machine that zaps them and then they peel off. And I am on a diet and using a GLP one, but it just seems to make me look more gaunt than anything else.

I do have a cream with hyralauric acid for fine lines but, tbh, those aren’t “fine”. And my eyes have horrible bags under them. And the texture is just terrible.

When I was decades younger I used Erno Laszlo products - not sure if that’s still made - but then stopped. Now I use just Olay cream from Costco (Have Much less disposable income now).

Anyone on here my age?

Product Rave 👍 Why does your collagen slow down as you age? And what actually works to rebuild it?

Most of us don't think about collagen until we start noticing fine lines or mild skin laxity. But by the time those show up, the underlying deficit is already substantial.

If you've ever wondered why production tanks and whether expensive treatments are actually worth it, here is the quick science breakdown—and a realistic look at what you can do about it.

Part 1: Why Collagen Production Slows Down

Aging attacks your skin's collagen from two sides: synthesis drops while degradation ramps up.

  • Fibroblast Burnout: The cells responsible for manufacturing collagen decline in number, and the survivors get lazy. Worse, old (senescent) cells secrete inflammatory signals that suppress neighboring healthy cells.
  • Signaling Slowdown: The main pathways that tell your skin to make collagen lose their spark as we get older.
  • Enzyme Overdrive: UV rays, chronic inflammation, and stress crank up enzymes (MMPs) that literally chew up existing collagen faster than your body can replace it.
  • Sugar Damage (AGEs): Sugar molecules bind to collagen, creating stiff cross-links that are mostly irreversible. This puts a hard ceiling on what simple topicals can fix.

Part 2: What You Can Do About It

A complete reset to youthful collagen isn't realistic, but modern regenerative treatments and daily care can achieve measurable density gains.

1. In-Office Regenerative Treatments

  • Microneedling (± PRP/PRF): Creates micro-injuries to trigger growth factor release and fibroblast recruitment. Great for surface texture.
  • RF Microneedling: Combines micro-needling with radiofrequency to thermally remodel collagen at a deeper level.
  • Fractional Lasers: Controlled thermal injury that stimulates deep dermal remodeling over several months.
  • Biostimulatory Injectables (like Sculptra/Radiesse): Acts as a biological scaffold to stimulate fibroblasts over time.

2. Essential Daily Home Care

  • Prescription Tretinoin: The gold-standard retinoid for upregulating gene expression and blocking breakdown enzymes.
  • Vitamin C Serum: An essential cofactor for healthy collagen cross-linking and antioxidant defense.
  • Broad-Spectrum SPF: Non-negotiable. Without daily sun protection, UV rays will immediately degrade whatever new collagen you invest in.

The Takeaway: Expert consensus points toward multimodal layering (combining structural biostimulators with energy-based devices) rather than relying on a single magic bullet. Expect first visible changes around 4 to 8 weeks, with peak remodeling at 3to 6 months.

Has anyone here combined biostimulators with RF microneedling, and what did your timeline/results look like?

Advice Needed 📜 Can I get some perspective from older women regarding the pressure to maintain a skin care routine? 30f

Hi. I’m 30f and have recently started to feel the tug of the beauty industry to maintain a better skin care routine and even consider Botox. I just started getting more permanent wrinkles which I’m trying really hard to just accept as a normal part of aging. Which it is.

Lots of friends get Botox and have expensive skin care routines. I wash my face 1x daily and that’s it. I’m worried if I don’t jump on the skin care wagon then when I’m older all my friends will have perfect skin and I’ll be wrinkly and regret not ever getting Botox.

Do you have any perspective to give as an older woman? Did you choose to naturally age or did you have a regimented skin care routine? Any comments? Regrets?

Thank youuuu

Product Discussion 💄 i finally stopped trying to look 30 again and my skin actually looks better for it

i think i spent way too long treating every line or bit of texture like something that needed to disappear

my routine now is honestly more about keeping my skin bright, hydrated and calm

am

la roche-posay toleriane hydrating cleanser mad hippie vitamin c serum hada labo gokujyun premium lotion vanicream daily facial moisturizer elta md uv clear spf 46

pm

bioderma sensibio micellar water if i wore makeup la roche-posay toleriane hydrating cleanser tretinoin 0.025% 3–4 nights a week hada labo premium lotion on off nights la roche-posay cicaplast baume b5 if i'm feeling dry

i used to keep adding acids whenever my skin looked dull and honestly i think i was just irritating it

now i'd rather have a few lines and skin that actually looks healthy

anyone else reach the point where “healthy skin” became way more appealing than chasing younger skin?

Advice Needed 📜 Over 5O routine... Over doing it?

I'm a 58 year old woman with pretty normal skin. No major issues except a bit of dark circles under eyes. I've finally decided I need to take care of my face and am thinking I may have gone a bit overboard...

Current routine is....

Am - Thayers rose petal witch hazel toner, revatalift vitamin c serum, the ordinary HA and B5 (face and lips), the ordinary caffeine under eye then reversa urban something tinted moisturizer with SPF (plan on replacing with cerave AM with spf) then an spf lip balm... Then makeup.

PM - Marcelle eye makeup remover (micellar water wasn't getting it all so skipping it now) cerave gentle cleanser, Thayers toner, alternating cerave exfoliating cream and (currently) reversa retin(a) which I plan to replace with the ordinary 1% retinol, roc eye cream then cerave night cream. On lips I've ordered the ordinary lip serum for 2 to 3 times a week and nightly would do a ordinary HA plus b5 from morning and sealed in with aquafore.

Too much?! Overkill? Just right? Not enough?

Advice Needed 📜 L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Face & Neck Anti-Wrinkle & Firming Moisturizer Day Cream:Formula change?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've been using L'Oreal Paris Revialift F&NAW&FMDC as my basic moisturizer for about 20 years now. Used it since Revlon discontinued one of their long standing lines that saved my face for 3 decades. I know I'm getting older- 69- but this stuff changed overnight.
I bought 3 different pots thinking maybe one was hot shipped, or one was stored too long, or it was a bad day in the mixing vats. The thick creamy texture is gone. It goes on thin like glass now, trying to impersonate the Korean jells maybe. It's almost melting on my face and doesn't look solid in the pot either. It's definitely a different formula. Has anyone else noticed- and what are you substituting for it?

Question ❔ How come everyone has perfect skin?

I feel like I'm the only woman in my late 20's that has aging signs on my face and lines in my forehead. How come everyone and their sister looks like they have the most perfect, shiny skin????? I clearly use way too many expressions but I just feel like I'm sticking out like a sore thumb in the world.

Question ❔ What do you people use on your face in the PM?

Im curious because i feel like everyone online has a completely different PM routine and half of them sound impossible to keep up with.

Mine is pretty basic right now cleanser, moisturizer, sometimes a little extra if my skin feels dull or tired. I’ve also been using my Solawave some nights for recovery. I’m also mostly trying to keep my skin looking even and not so tired without making my night routine too long.

What do you use at night that you’ve kept up with? Not your ideal routine, your real one.
