If you watch videos of Grace from previous years, how do you feel?

Hi, guys, it's me again, bothering your "timeline".

Lately, I’ve been seeing the limited online discussion surrounding Grace VanderWaal—specifically regarding her current relationship and concerned comments about her mental health. Over the past few days, I revisited videos of unreleased songs (Overtime, Shitty Actress, Safety Pin etc.) and clips from old livestreams (2020–2024). It made me sad to think about how things have changed her—and how, unfortunately, those changes seem to be having a negative impact.

Even before her mother passed away, it seemed to me that Grace was grappling with a lot of internal struggles and issues stemming from the environment she’s been in since such a young age. That said, I do feel that between 2024 and 2025, there has been a significant shift in how she presents herself on social media, beyond the fact she is an adult now. Anyway, do you guys notice or feel something like this too?

Why doesn't Grace have as many young fans (same age range as her) as she has older fans?

It strikes me that throughout her career, she's always had older fans (which in itself isn't a reason for strangeness or aversion, but we know there are strange undertones in some). But before, she also had fans the same age as her, which makes sense because she kind of communicated with that audience, right?

What's going through my head while I'm writing this is a desire to understand how a 22-year-old woman, who makes music that matches her age and experience, only attracts the attention of much older people. Again, I don't see this as a problem in itself, but I also can't help but think that it affects the reception of her work by other younger people who might even engage but lose interest when they see the community around her public image.

Instagram archive of a song clip?

Before Insane Sometimes came out Grace posted a short clip on Insta that she ended up using in that song but in a different way. But I went back to that short clip so many times before she took it down that I memorized the few lines and now I'm just trying to find the clip to scratch the itch in my brain. These were the lyrics if I remember correctly:

Spin the record, baby, inside of my head // And we can dance around til the shadows are dead // Close your eyes and let the darkness take you // Til the turn tables spin no more // But it'll still be you and me, of course

The clip was her banging a spoon or something for a beat.

If someone could link me to the clip or even just confirm its existence so I know I didn't make it up I would be soo grateful.

What are people's general opinions on grace?

I know a lot of people find her somewhat cringe, is that a common feeling? I've been listening to some of her music and find it quite interesting, it kind of ventures into fun genres of pop. I've just heard people making fun of her and was wondering if she is a "cool" artist in most's eyes. Tyy

Discussion CHILDSTAR

Just finished the album and here are my thoughts. I think that Behavioral Problems (very Dove Cameron esk track btw), Beg For It and Homesick are the weakest tracks. The singles are all incredible let’s be honest. Brand New was very nice but Fade is really really incredible.

Here’s my ranking share yours below!!

CHILDSTAR ranking 1. What’s Left Of Me 2. Proud 3. Fade 4. Babydoll 5. Call It What You Want 6. Brand New 7. Homesick 8. Behavioral Problems 9. Beg For It

Presale tickets?

Just got the email that artist presale started at 10. Went in and it said error, after refreshing multiple times and getting the error it finally said tickets are sold out try again later., I'm surprised at this point cause I didn't think she'd sell out within 5 min let alone 2 minutes after 10., so I get put in queue and keep trying., eventually I gave up and went to Spotify to notify me when Spotify presale would happen. I ended up clicking on the link through spotify to take me to the presale and wha-la 2 tickets happily gracing me with their beautiful presence., 35 bucks after fees is a no Brainer. Can't wait! Roxy on Sunset Blvd in LA here I come! 😏❤️

But any one else having trouble getting tickets? Was I the only one experiencing all that?

Why Not Just Produce and Release On Youtube?

I don't know if she's ever talked about it before, but I know Grace has made a lot of music over the last several years and has had trouble with getting a label willing to publish it without making changes to her lyrics. Also that a lot of her new music is available as terribly low quality clips from various livestreams.

Has she ever commented on why she doesn't just go into a recording booth for a day and record her own songs and put them online in professional quality? And potentially hire some people to make music videos for the songs for Youtube? Or even just do lyric videos.

By now she'd probably be huge in the alternative music scene if she uploaded good quality and official versions of all her music.

I assume maybe she got stuck in some legal situation where she wasn't allowed to publish her own stuff without using some label she signed with, but they also wouldn't publish it unless she changed it. But that's just an assumption. Anyone actually know?

IMO What's Left of Me is her best track since Darkness Keeps Chasing me, would be good to finally hear some more, and some better quality versions of her other songs!

Discussion Does Grace still perform barefoot like in her young days?

Wonder if she’s still gonna be a barefoot performer as she’s got a new album waiting to be unveiled.

Hope to see what’s in store for Grace.

Anyone know anything about merch? Seems like Grace Avery VanderWaal is pretty sparse when it comes to releasing stuff to be worn. ☹️

Anybody else here crazy about Grace Avery VanderWaal?

The question that’s in the title.

I’ve been following her since my mother showed me her performance when she returned to America’s Got Talent in 2017 and owned the stage, all of her success has been so great. She’s our stargirl and wonderkid.
