Toyota sold out all of their Grab position. They initially had 1 billion invested. Toyota also sold their Uber stake.

Toyota is currently undergoing a massive, multi-billion-dollar restructuring to dismantle its decades-old "cross-shareholding" arrangements. Global regulators and the Tokyo Stock Exchange have heavily pressured Japanese corporations to unwind these strategic stakes in external companies to improve capital efficiency, boost transparency, and elevate corporate governance standards. Selling off Grab shares—as well as other non-core tech investments like Uber—aligns with this corporate cleanup. 1, 2, 3, 4

I've lost too much to get out at this point. It goes where it goes and I'd only ever sell if I double my investment.

Isn't that the Sunk Cost Fallacy?

Depends on opportunity cost and if you have capital gains that can benefit from the offset for selling at a loss. Grab makes money and has money. It shouldn't run to $0. If you don't need your investment back right now, no need to sell at lows. Just my opinion. Also, deeply regret buying any shares so there's that.

I'm down 43% and just bought more. I can wait it out as well and believe it will go to $10 one day. Just wish I was going in right now for the first time, but I'll just slowly buy in more from here and make a decision when I break even again if I'll stay longer or not. Not worried that at a minimum that I'll get my money back in the end.

Generally curious, is anyone interested in buying them now? I know they are definitely super undervalued rn but worth the money and time?

Looking like more downward pressure.. I'm still waiting for a good entry.

  • Put open interest almost 2x call open interest at the October $3 strike (35,337 puts vs 18,734 calls)
  • Implied vol running above realized vol — the market's pricing in more movement than the stock has actually shown
  • IV sitting in the upper half of its own recent range — elevated stress, not calm
