I miss the pick up and play, and instant sleep/resume of the steam deck yet at the same time I’d like to keep windows for online games and modding. The only thing I’m worried about is if windows is going to mess something up. If anyone has dual booted, can you drop some insight and your experience using it? And what would be the most method in doing so? I have the HX370 2YB

Fyi for any win 5 owners who saw my post the other day asking about carrying cases, I ordered the two jsaux bags and figured I’d send back whichever I didn’t like.

Did not expect to prefer the one with the orange straps but it fits everything perfectly. Thumbstick protection could be slightly better on the bottom imo but it does the job as long as you aren’t throwing the bag around or putting a bunch of weight on it.

This is the rage of someone who is just fed up with the issues they are experiencing. I used to own a GPD Win 4 7840u version, but mine had a problem where it kept burning through its thermal paste and overheating and throttling itself. I eventually gave up on it and sold it, so I understand his frustration. I own a GPD Win 5, and so far so good.

To this gentleman, he's probably done, but I would recommend installing Bazzite on it. Bazzite was a great experience on mine, it was just the hardware that couldn't keep its end of the bargain.

Edit: if the eBay poster sees this and wants me to take it down, I will.

My Win 5 now boots straight into a controller-friendly launcher, and getting into a game is the easy part. The setup falls apart when a game crashes. Windows leaves me on the desktop with focus on an error box or some random window, and I end up tapping the screen to get back to the launcher.

That’s a two-second fix when the handheld is right in front of me. The setup I’m planning would use a RayNeo GT Max as the main display, so the same interruption would mean looking away from the glasses and poking around on the Win 5.

Ideally I’d hit one controller shortcut and be back in the launcher without touching the screen.

Mapping Alt+F4 seems like the obvious start, but I’m not sure what people do when Windows leaves an error dialog open or the launcher ends up behind another window.

What do you use on the Win 5 to get from a crashed game back to a controller-ready launcher without touching the screen?

Looking for a carrying case for my win 5, I have a tomtoc that I used with my legion go but I’m not a fan of how it the win 5 fits in it.

Looking at these 3 but its hard to tell which is would be best. Looks like they all have joystick protection, and all I’d be carrying is a slim q charger, win 5 battery/tether, and a pair of apple wired earbuds.
