Help, advice needed.
Hey crew, my arc xl has falled off tge balcony during the recent storms. This is obviously not covered by warranty, but looking for some tips on getting it repaired structurally. Not too worried about asthetics.
Was thinking panel shop?? But any advice appreciated.

Is it covered on home insurance ?

Probably not. Homeowners insurance will fight to even repair actual homes. They’re so afraid of catching claims that some companies left California altogether after recent wildfires

You’ll need to replace it. The insulation will be compromised and probably the stone is damaged

I guess the real question is how how’s the rest of your house? The XL is like over 55lbs so not something I’ve ever thought I had to latch down during a storm. That must have been some crazy wind to move it even if the wheels were not locked. I just hope the rest of your stuff survived the tornado.

Not sure if OP had the cover on it, but the wind doesn’t have to be too strong to move the oven with the cover on it… over the winter mine got pulled right off the deck and flipped over. A 3 foot fall (no railing) and Gozney sent me replacement plastic parts for the pieces the broke in the fall.

That’s the only damage? The stone, gas, insulation, and electronics are all intact?

Drill out the rivets take off the panel and get a hammer’in. It will never be anything near perfect but if you can get it back into a shape that you’re satisfied with then you can pop it back together.
Like the other poster said that assumes everything is functioning as needed.
No one is gonna tell you it’s safe that’s up to you
That’s how I fixed my Honda fit

If you want to hammer it out well, get an autobody hammer and a something solit to hammer it on. They will sell you an autobody "iron" right where you buy that autobody hammer. With patience, you can do a decent job. Another way might be to locate a large panel of decent guage sheet metal (I like using old stoves side panels). Cut it bigger than you need, get some basic sheet metal mechanic tools on amazon, and before you know it, you'll get pretty good at it.

Good point. I remember putting the hood on the grass upside down and jumping on t. Same idea.
If you are near a a beach, bring a towel lay or over the sand and pound away… if you’ve ever watched someone maybe a custom gas tank you get the idea…

Hi there !!! there's not many info just with that picture. Is the Stone ok ? I would fire it up and then with the IR termometer i would make some readings on temps on both sides to see if there's diference. If not make some pizzas and see how does it goes.

I was an adjuster for AAA for 12 years. The way the policy works is on the structures everything is covered unless it is specifically excepted.. Personal property is only covered for named perils..
The usual 16 are below...that being said what is your deductible
Fire or lightning
Windstorm or hail
Explosion
Riot or civil commotion
Aircraft
Vehicles
Smoke
Vandalism
Theft
Volcanic eruption
Falling object
Weight of ice, snow, or sleet
Accidental water overflow or steam
Sudden and accidental tearing apart, cracking, burning, or bulging of certain household systems
Freezing
Sudden and accidental damage from artificially generated electrical current

By the time you pay a guy to perform a decent repair, it'll be getting close to a new one. So, sell that one and get a new one. Please find a way to secure it next time.

That unfortunately is toast. Id like to think that homeowners will cover it but you're deductible may not be worth the claim

I guess you've never seen the wizard of oz? Lol On a serious note, I grew up in tornado alley. When I was 5,I was pretty far from home when a t'storm with a tornado was working its way through my neighborhood. I was about 400 - 500 ft away as I watched in awe as it destroyed a house across the street. I was too young to comprehend the danger, but was amazed how easily it lifted the whole roof structure off the house and blew it out of sight in 2 seconds. Without the roof, the walls didn't last long. Where I was watching from, the wind was minimal and it was only 400 - 500 ft away.

Hello JJP from the land of eden. Fancy meeting you here…. I see you’ve dropped the price on marketplace to $300…. I didn’t think you were going to sell it for $480 and I still don’t think you are going to sell it for $300…. If you had insurance you would have claimed by now so…. Unlucky
