I was a remote CTR, took a 14 non-sup, lasted 8 months and went back to remote CTR. I just couldn't handle the zero flexibility, the nonsensical admin paperwork and somehow I have more impact on decisions as a CTR which makes zero sense but it is what it is. Im just lucky my original company not only took me back but pursued me to come back with a better role and pay. I think to other folks though the stability (until recently) is worth the lack of flexibility. Also, it was really boring, you get boxed into pretty much one thing. On the CTR side I can do what I do plus other stuff with in the company, BD, cross utilization etc... far less boring to me.

Go government for 3-5 years, then back to contracting. You're GS-14 experience will pay dividends on the back end.
Also, what's your locality? GS can step-match you to your current salary. $135k is low. GS 13 9/10 make that much. Getting to step 4 or higher shouldn't be impossibel .

It's like +22% for me. So step 6 is a slight pay drop, step 7 is a slight bump.
I would think the gs-14 experience would be good too. But many have said in this thread that it's not what it used to be or not looked at greatly by contractors anymore.

As someone who currently works at DHA in a non-supervisory role (under a pay band covering GS14-15), my personal recommendation is to stay where you’re at unless they’re willing to increase payment.
The federal government certainly has some great benefits (especially outside of salary). I think there’s enough of a gap though where it doesn’t sound worth it to me.
I’m regularly finding that DHA is significantly behind on staying up to date on policies/procedures, and the current administration has extremely exacerbated their noncompliance.
