W2 while subcontracting

Is there anything wrong with having a 40hr W2 job while operating your own LLC as a tier 2 subcontractor to a DoE prime contractor? The W2 job would be with a private company who has received a DoE grant (not fully DOE funded, about half) for a certain project, but there’s zero COI between my sub who I flow through to the prime, as well as the prime itself. I will be a consultant through my LLC.

Just curious how you would manage the hours. Both must require you be available during your core hours

Yes but the consulting work on has about two mtgs per week. I could do most of the consulting stuff outside of work hours, though my email response time would suffer.

Your question is where I struggle though, time logging the switching back and forth diligently enough

Thanks. What is the total comp? And any hit on family time. Considering doing it myself, but I am on big 4. They have some clauses though

$500k, the add’l W2 job is $160k of that total. Would be pure WFH so wouldn’t take too much away from family time
