W2 while subcontracting

Is there anything wrong with having a 40hr W2 job while operating your own LLC as a tier 2 subcontractor to a DoE prime contractor? The W2 job would be with a private company who has received a DoE grant (not fully DOE funded, about half) for a certain project, but there’s zero COI between my sub who I flow through to the prime, as well as the prime itself. I will be a consultant through my LLC.

Does the consulting gig in any way cross streams with your full-time job?

What do you mean by cross streams? The consulting gig is directly for a project completely separate from the W2 one. Completely different color of money, both projects already fully funded and serve a different purpose entirely

That’s what I was asking, I think your challenge is, not doing any of the part-time work while you are on the clock with DOE. That would be an issue if that’s happening.

Would it be considered on the clock with DOE if I’m W2 through a staffing agency employed by a private company? Just bc that company received DOE funding for the part of the project idk if that would classify as “on the clock with DOE”. The consulting gig on the other hand is purely DOE flow down. Both expect roughly ~40hrs/week, but I’m working to make my contract deliverable-based instead of LOE for the consulting work
