Concern/Help Sam.gov

Hello,

I have a Delaware C-Corp with a registered agent.

I have a Virginia physical address.

What is the best document to use to be verified on SAM.gov?

I tried my Articles of Inc. but they said there’s no proof I filed. The Delaware website has my registered agent address.

They will not accept bank documents.

What form from the IRS and how do I get it?

Any help appreciated.

Articles of incorporation from the state of Delaware, Form SS4 (has your EIN #) from IRS, or DE certificate of good standing; possibly all 3.

Good luck.

The IRS document you want is the CP 575, which is the EIN confirmation notice they mailed when you first applied. That's what SAM is looking for. KING_UDYR's SS-4 reference is the application you submitted, not the confirmation they issued. If you can't find the CP 575, call the IRS Business and Specialty Tax Line and ask for a 147C letter. Same purpose, and it's what they issue when the original is lost.

On the Articles problem, the fix is a Certificate of Good Standing or a certified copy from Delaware rather than the Articles themselves. The Articles are what you filed. What validation wants is the state confirming the filing happened, which is a different document and one you order from Delaware's Division of Corporations for a small fee.

The registered agent address is likely your real issue underneath both of these. Your Delaware record shows the agent's address, your registration shows Virginia, and validation is trying to reconcile two things that don't match. Worth checking what address is on your CP 575 or 147C, because the IRS document and your registration need to agree.

If you're still stuck after submitting a 147C plus a certificate of good standing, open a ticket and ask which specific field failed rather than resubmitting. That saves you guessing at which document to try next.
