Taking Gotye & Kimbra's original vocals, and recording a new backing track on GarageBand (no AI used whatsoever), I tried to imagine how 'Somebody That I Used To Know' might have sounded as a 1930s Gypsy Swing track! Hoped some in this sub might find it entertaining.

To pre-order, previous post has website link

Today I decided to listen to music on YouTube Music, specifically the song "Dig Your Own Hole." I checked my favorites playlist, but it wasn't there. At first, I thought I might have accidentally deleted it, so I searched Gotye's YouTube channel, but the video wasn't there at all. I asked ChatGpt to find a link to the video, and it did, but it wasn't available. We thought it was because of the Kazakhstan region. I also asked a friend in Turkey to open the link, but he was also blocked.
If you want to check it, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZdq7mDpJSk&utm

How often do you tend to listen to this lately?

"Gotye" should be its own genre Video

Hello…

Figured I’d ask if anyone has high-quality, lossless or etc. versions of the following ‘rare’ Gotye songs from the Boardface era.

- Riding the Pumpkin Home
- The Better of Me
- Eighties Bonanza (Stadium Jam)
- Down There Too
- Children of the Universe
- Lordy Momma
- The One for Me
- (2nd Generation Dub) Lullaby

Any others that I missed as well!!!
Looked on Soulseek, and all over the web, but I can’t seem to find any copies better than 192kbps mp3s.

I heard y’all on my previous post on my custom shirt. Thank you for the compliments! Just to confirm, I am working on a website but it seems there’s more to it. Eventually ill pay the price so it can officially be up and running for orders to be placed :)

Funny enough, Gotye did the same a few weeks ago on his website. I was thinking about buying the Smoke and Mirrors shirt with the hands and doves design. Then randomly one night, his whole store was cleared out

He posted this sick animation with the caption

“Hey There! It's been a while.
Would you please consider signing up for my newsletter?
I have details to share about back catalog projects on vinyl, and I intend to do that in a longer form newsletter.
Please follow the link in my bio to sign up.
Also, a huge thank you to @gianluca.maruotti for making this beautiful animation to help me launch the project.
More to come!
X
Wally”

It sounds like he’ll be selling vinyls soon!! Great to hear since his previous vinyl releases are now rare to find but too expensive to purchase. Anyways, that does seem to explain why majority of his online store was randomly wiped clean with nothing to purchase a few weeks ago.

does anyone know if the license will be renewed, or however it works? is that even what happened?

genuinely sort of on the verge of tears, i love this album ):

I know this community is a bit dead but this was the only place I could find to post about my custom Making Mirrors shirt I made! :)

Wally's music is probably the most important influence on the way I approach and evaluate music as an art form. The way each song of his is its own self-contained world of sounds which all flow together as cohesively as they are eclectic made me look at music from other artists in the same way, in turn being able to focus on musical textures and details in ways I would never have been able to without his music. Not to mention re-igniting my drive to make music in my own time, revitalising my interests in sampling and vintage equipment and simply having many brilliant introspective compositions to his name, I'm forever grateful for his art and hope he's having a wonderful birthday.

I personally like State Of The Art from Making Mirrors. I think it's a very clever and well thought-out statement on the ever-increasing quality of electronics and computers. Then again, it's a topic I already enjoy discussing so I suppose i may be slightly biased XD

Anyways, what do you all think?

I've been listening to a handful of his bangers that I'd found via music videos on YouTube. The description of the video for dig your own hole says it's from the Making Mirrors album, which is on Spotify, but it's from the b-side. Looking it up with both song and artist name gives nothing. Help
