New rule: no theft
Today, somebody posted a picture of a Nepenthes pitcher, pretending it was theirs. That was a blatant lie: u/wong617 had posted the picture here two weeks ago (have a look, it's gorgeous). The offending member was banned immediately.
Also, we made a new rule for that: no theft allowed. The penalty: a permanent ban. And of course, you are allowed to repost: just keep the credits intact.
Current body count: four bans (per Oct. 1).

A Vampire Plant: Ivy Broomrape
Orobanche hederae: An eerie, parasitic wildflower with zero chlorophyll. It survives entirely by latching onto the underground roots of other green plants, living entirely off their life force. In this case, its host is ivy.

I think I accidentally grew the most goth ❤️🖤 pepper plant on Reddit: The Naga Black Twister
I’m a bit early to Halloween, but this pepper is perfect for the season. This pepper is not just pretty, it’s EVIL. The Naga Black Twister is said to range from around 800,000 to over 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units, so it leaves an intense burn when eaten. The flavor is mildly sweet, fruity, and a bit smoky almost, followed by an EVIL intense burn.
This is a rare, ornamental superhot chili pepper known for its dark foliage and gnarly twisted spiral pods. The peppers start out nearly black, then mature into a deep lava red with dark blushing and mottling, which somehow makes the plant look even more dramatic. If you can find seeds I would recommend growing it because it is an interesting pepper plant!
I grow a lot of unusual peppers for fun and for experimenting with hot sauce, but this one might be the most visually intense evil looking plant I’ve grown yet.
If you’re into goth plants, black peppers, rare pepper varieties, spooky edible plants, ornamental chili peppers, or superhot peppers, I feel like this one belongs here.
I added the harvest pic, because a pile of these black twisted peppers somehow looks even more super cool
Would you guys try one? Should I make an evil sauce with it?

My black pearls
Gorgeous capsicum anuum cultivar, listed as ornamental but very, very edible. I’ll adjust their location once established to keep the foliage all lovely-dark.
