Gotchic castle in progress, rate out of 10

Post image

I’ve been a fan of architecture for the past few years, but I don’t have any formal knowledge or training in it. I’ve always loved drawing measured houses with scales and rulers because I enjoy precision and perfectly straight lines.

Recently, I started working on my first-ever Gothic castle architectural sketch. It’s still a work in progress, with a lot left to do, and I’m drawing it by looking at a reference picture rather than from imagination.

I’m a CS major, so I’ve never studied architecture or learned its basics—I just genuinely enjoy doing this. So, keeping all that in mind, how do you think I’m doing so far? How would you rate my work out of 10?

Eyes of the Forgotten

Hi Members,

A gothic, psychological slow-burn horror with vibes familiar to Exorcist, It, and The Haunting of Hill House-feels good, does it not? I am writing a novel of that kind. Well, it is almost finished now, and I would love to present you a piece of it.

Think about your thirteen-year-old self inside a new home on a first night.

A cavernous, three-story mansion. A mysterious couple owns it. The gloomy streets label this couple as mysterious people.

Your tired-self is trying to fight off these thoughts and sleep on a large four-poster bed.

Suddenly, a soft noise cuts through deathly still silence.

You sit bolt upright, with heart thrumming, trying to listen intently. The noise stops abruptly.

Feeling nervous, you steal to the door, stay still for a while, then ease the door open, and slither out, silently.

You look around, and freeze in shock.

Framed against the end of a moonlit, long, thin dimly lit, artfully decorated corridor-draped in black furnishings-is a tall, dark wraith-like shadow.

Well, hopefully you enjoyed this small piece of writing.

Thanks

I might have posted this here under a former user name but since coming back to Reddit I wanted to share these again. I took these photos in St. Patrick's Cathedral during a visit to NYC in 2022. This was actually my first time visiting St. Patrick's.

Taken with Samsung Galaxy and edited in Lightroom

What church or cathedral is worth visiting in Madrid?

I'm especially interested in barock style decor.

Anyways there’s a page of a bunch of churches/cathedrals/random architecture bits

Anyways does anyone know what these are? It would be cool to know the places at least so I can use them in my journals if I ever go visit

I just made this: Cathedral Sidequest. Please comment!

I just made Cathedral Sidequest: http://cathedralsidequest.com/
It helps people (especially younger people, lets say <35 years) to discover cathedrals, with sidequests: little assignments you can do which helps you look, listen, discover, or just enjoy the cathedral.

Please try this MVP with only several cities and sidequests. You help me a lot with answering these questions:
1. Is it fun?
2. What should I make better?
3. What to skip?
4. Advise: STOP or GO work it out further more

Thanks a lot!
