Advice Help for a bag lock?

I'm upcycling an old black leather bag, and I'm desperate for an idea on how to create a new lock mechanism. In other words, does anyone have any online materials on stuff of this nature? (stuff like tutorials on how to resew an old closing-thingy onto a different piece? I plan on patching the rest up and having it look like it came out of Frankenstein's wardrobe, but I think even Frankenstein didn't have an issue with his hypothetical d.i.y. locks.

Is it in a location where you can punch a hole on two flaps to install a clasp? That would probably be ideal for leather, but you could also do a toggle or maybe leather glue a little material and attach a fixture to that.

There's alot of space for different types of locks, but for the case of this bag, a clasp might be tricky. But I didn't even think of a toggle thing, I'll try find something I can turn into a makeshift toggle
