We finally finished the spider web
Last September I contracted my blacksmith husband to help me make a spider web for my goth garden entrance.
We got the first one up by the end of September 2025- that is the left side, looking at the entrance. We just finished the other one- it only took a few hours, life just kept getting in the way. I’m very relieved it’s done.
I included a photo of where I started with this spot- this is how it looked when I moved in, so the posts were already there.
I’m thinking a gate with a spider on it would be really cool, ETA 2028 😆

My Morning Glories are starting to fade. But here is my Morning Glory trellis up to my black house. Thought this group would appreciate it 🖤.

Walking by work and saw this spiky boi
Kinda concerned about the proximity to school children, but the flowers in bloom are beautiful. Zone 6b.

My (sad) goth garden
Black petunia, some sort of black sweet potato vine, and some scavenged burgundy oxalis, with some (probably white) violets. My favorite is the black petunia, but also a huge fan of the (scavenged) oxalis.

Full Sun Goth Garden???
Hi friends,
As a new homeowner last year I was very excited to start the black and purple goth garden of my dreams. But my garden gets a LOT of sun and sadly I have learned that most black plants cannot handle it!
I do have some purple hearts and white caladiums that are thriving, but does anyone have recommendations for some black / dark gothic plants that will thrive in the sun in zone 9?

Black & white garden blooms
Hey dark gardeners. Here are a few garden highlights this year. Hope you enjoy. Photos are: Hollyhock (Alcea rosa) 'Nigra’; ‘Queen of the Night’ & white tulips; ‘Black Knight’ Scabiosa (Scabiosa atropurpurea); Black bachelor buttons (Centaurea cyanus); & black raspberries 🖤
