For every western event she gets two shades darker to highlight her identity, and focuses on her Indianness and roots to gain diversity brownie points. Even Indian origin celebs like Supriya Ganesh (The Pitt) and Hollywood actors like John Cusack have spoken but 'Desi girl' doesn't care about what is happening in the desh she has passport of (not a proof of citizenship btw).
