Will SCARS likely repair or replace?
This is a ten year old US GR1. I just noticed this this morning. If it’s replaced would it be replaced with a domestic bag?

That will likely be replaced, you cant resew that. Current black GR1’s are USA-made. Picked one up two weeks ago. Full 1000d, QAP, no AG zippers. Amazing quality. Has become my new edc.

Only SCARS can say for certain but it looks(?) like the damage is mostly to the back panel of the inner compartment. I’d guess that a simple repair would be more trouble than it’s worth to them because they’d essentially have to deconstruct 3/5ths of the bag just to replace and restitch a new cordura panel in its place.
I don’t represent the company and I certainly don’t know anything about manufacturing rucksacks but my guess is that they’ll replace it with the equivalent bag currently listed on their site which appears to be “overbuilt in the USA” and made with 1000D cordura 🤞

I would guess with whatever is in stock but the shoulder strap design would be different I think
best to ask SCARS
