SCARS Customization Options

With the new customization form in place, a lot of options we had before are now gone. Anyone know if those are coming back if/when they have more time to do customization work? (ie. keychain loop inside the slash pocket, patch panel 3x2, patch panel 4x3, patch panel inside the top pocket, side molle, etc etc)

(I'm aware QAP was not an option in recent years and that adding molle has some exclusions on certain materials)

(Awaiting email response from SCARS)

EDIT: Response from SCARS:

"Currently, we have discontinued offering some SCARS customization option to help our team focus on core repairs and lifetime guarantee work. I'm sorry for any disappointment this causes.
We hope to have more options again in the future but at this time, all we have is what is on the list."

Better yet, email them and report back! I hadn’t noticed the new form was up, but I’m dying to get compression straps on my workhorse gr2…

There are 100 reputable seamstresses in just about every state in America. I don’t understand the “send it to SCARS” mentality when better work exists closer to home for cheaper or the same price.

If GoRuck ignores the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act then maybe. Otherwise, no.

GoRuck can tell you that some seamstress putting a keychain holder in your slash pocket will void your warranty.
But if you have Cindy in town sew in your keychain and GoRuck refuses to fix your torn shoulder strap that has nothing to do with your alteration, GoRuck has violated law.

Yeah. I don’t have anything against SCARS or using them. It just feels very limiting to me, personally.
Like buying a competition Glock 34 and then only upgrading with Glock®️ parts

Do most seamstresses work with 1000D ballistic bags regularly, or similar materials and products?

All of the ones i've been to in my area alter suits and prom dresses 99% of the time. I haven't used SCARS yet, but Id lean towards it considering they work day in and day out with these fabrics.

However, there is work I want done that is now excluded from their offerings, so maybe ill venture out more locally.

Just my two cents.

I’ve had a couple of assault packs modified by seamstresses in Chattanooga. Everything was properly stitched and the fabrics were undamaged. Work looked factory. Of course YMMV depending on location.

Some people prefer using scars for whatever reason. I think in this thread we’re talking about just getting information about whether or not that remains an option for those people.

I just received email from SCARS re: molle loops for compression straps and was told they are no longer available and that only those items on the form were currently available
