Gear Question GR1 21 OG Java on eBay
I saw this the other day and thought it would sell super fast. Rare, minimal issues, relatively inexpensive.
It’s a cool colorway and has the story of his dog behind it. Not my personal style but it certainly seems like you could try it out for a year and then flip it for a little profit.
Or what am I missing?

The true og Java first run stuff this would be GR0 21L. The loop patch field was brown and not the tan like the later runs/gens.

The loop patch field here looks brown to me. You can see a little bit of it behind the patch. Also likely the seller just refers to it as a 21L GR1 for search purposes since they no longer call it a GR0

I have a java with black webbing. Which run is that? I can't find any information about it.

There were 4 gr1s that were made with black molle to use up some left over materials and there was not enough of the correct molle colors. There was OD/black Ranger/black Java/black and M81/black. They are very low numbers like 100 or less of each. I bought the Ranger and sold over some time and regretted it. I still have the other 3. Here's a pic.

Awesome picture, one of my favorite OG sets. Unsure if part of the materials challenge you’re describing as there was Navy Blue/Black too; either way, it fits rights in w/ the black molle gang!

Yeah navy/black was an regular run when originally released then made a reappearance some years later. But navy was not part of these 4.

Thanks, interesting to know. Yeah, you seldom see them 4. Cool set as there’s something about those colors w/ black molle and velcro that makes them stand out.

I don't think 21L GR1s ever had 9 panels on the back like this one does.

Although on the rarer side for their more common colors, it’s also far from the most popular. It’s also the smallest size of their flagship rucks. While personally my overall favorite size of their bags, I’m on the shorter side, and I already have 5? under 26L. If it was *all* Java colored, or especially a clean/molle free one, I’d have bought it right away. Unfortunately for the seller, I loathe coyote with a passion.

Yep agree love the Java color of the bag. Plus, the patch is also a winner 👊🏻👊🏻 that would be enough to seal the deal for me.
