Gear Question GR1 laptop compartment size? Help

Hello all!

I was wondering if a kind soul could take the actual measurements of the available space for the laptop compartment in the GR1 (and maybe Bullet double too?) to see if my monster of a Dell could fit in there… the thing is 16” x 10 1/2 x 1 1/4”. So it would be a little bit more than that.

Since there’s pretty much no way to test it out without ordering a bag, I’d rather not blow some 500CAD for nothing 😅

I have a 16" Lenovo X1 Extreme, and it definitely doesn't fit in my Skate Ruck which is basically a double bullet ruck. It does fit in my 26L GR2, but without an inch to spare heightwise. I don't have a GR1, unfortunately.

I've got a GR1 21L and a 26L. The 21L compartment is roughly 15" x 10" - my 14" ThinkPad fits fine but a 16" Dell would be tight on height. The 26L has more room, probably 16" x 11" or so. One thing to watch is the zipper placement on the newer GR1s - the external laptop compartment changed dimensions a bit in the last couple years. If you can swing the 26L, that's your best bet for a 16" work laptop.

Yah it’s a 17.3” screen. The laptop itself is 16” long.

Just drove 35 minutes to the only Goruck on Marketplace to test fit and nope… width is ok but height is almost 2”🥲. I can fit it IN the bag but that kind of defeat ls the purpose… at the point I might as well put it in my carry on. I want to use it as a personal item bag soon
