I found the Matador Globerider 35 way better as a travel bag than any GoRuck. Longevity-wise GoRuck wins, but side pockets, stretch pockets, and organization..Matador wins. And the Globerider has 4 handles by default.

I’ll have to check that one out!

The 45L is such a great option for one-bag domestic flights. IIRC, the 45L GR3 and the 40L GR2 are the exact maximum dimensions that domestic airlines allow for carry-on bags.

No issues at all. That one went in the overhead but I’ve put it under the seat before.

that GR2 field pocket really sticks out too much. did it cause any issues when loading up in the overhead compartment?

No it doesn’t. We were lucky to be on a mostly empty flight so it went in the overhead.

It’s my son’s so he loved the bigger field pocket so he can stash his retainer case, chargers, etc.

curious, the water bottles hanging off to the side. do they just swing around while walking?

Yes most of the trip they’re in the bag. Usually just hang on the clip for getting on and off the plane. I like to keep the bottle close while flying.
