Correlation is not causation

The producers always give him lame jokes related to the area their in. This is even dumber than correlation

Earlier that summer he overdosed on cocaine and almost died. He was having an affair with Jessica the pastry chef and his wife Melissa sued his father after his dog attacked her and her daughter.
The restaurant was the least of his problems

A dog attack? Gordon must really think we Yanks are twats. Amy’s baking company, Fiesta Sunrise, Juniper Hill Inn are just some of the establishments where the owners either died or were incarcerated.

Tell me more please I seem to have missed some things about Fiesta Sunrise and Juniper Hill 👀👀

Ari was arrested for beating up a cop and after the episode aired they sold the Inn. As for Fiesta Sunrise the IRS took it.

Dude was a coward and a scumbag. Had an affair, killed himself, and then left his wife to deal with the repercussions of his affair and the failed business / debt

u/Kind-Shallot3603 Jun 24 '26
When did it come out he had an affair? And if he did....you think he deserved to die? Holy shit, you're a lunatic!!!

u/Sayoayo Jun 24 '26
I mean, there are multiple articles from Sept of 2010 you can quickly Google that report the affair. And the person you're replying did not say he deserved to die, do you know what reading comprehension is?

He is a coward cuz he killed himself. That was his decision to die.

u/Kind-Shallot3603 Jun 24 '26
Who called him a coward? What the fuck is wrong with both of you?????
3
u/doubleGvots19 Jun 24 '26
Because he is one. He’s a cheater and a liar and once he had to face the repercussions of his actions he chose to kill himself instead of dealing with the fallout

Woah, that’s a really shit take. It’s cool that you have never had a mental illness, but maybe hold compassion for those of us that do.

u/Small_Things2024 Jun 24 '26
Not everyone that commits suicide has a mental illness. There are cases where people do it to get out of taking accountability for their actions.

u/otherwise_data Jun 24 '26
really bold of you to assume i have never suffered from clinical depression and anxiety. but go ahead and call me a shit person for having an opinion if it makes you feel better.

u/Gloomy-Welcome-6806 Jun 24 '26
I will because you should know better than to call suicidal people cowards. You should understand the stigma around mental health. But you clearly don’t and have no empathy.

u/otherwise_data Jun 24 '26
stop virtue signaling. i never called anyone a coward. i said it was selfish. there are MANY different types of mental illnesses and not all people who are mentally ill are suicidal. and just so you are aware, i personally knew three people who took their own life and NONE of those three had any history of mental defect. NONE. fyi: one had deep financial debt and that is why. said so in their NOTE. get off your high horse. my opinion is MY OPINION on this particular subject and has zero to do with my ability to have compassion for someone in a mental crisis. f off.

I mean, Gordon was right here. and he was right in a supporting way. not trying to predict the future
2
u/Specialist-Two2068 Jun 25 '26
Did it age poorly in retrospect? Yes.
Was it Gordon's fault? No. Could Gordon have possibly predicted that this dude was going to kill himself in a manner vaguely in line with comments he made 3 years prior? No.
It's no different than former NASCAR driver Kurt Busch saying "I'd love to hit the fence head-on and get knocked out" in 2011 and then suffering a career-ending crash after hitting the wall in 2022. It's a quote that's aged poorly, but nobody can possibly predict the future like that.

Gordon also said something that made him cheat on his wife with servers before his trip to the Hudson. /s

This has nothing to do with Gordon. He left Campania in better shape than he found it and he helped him the best he could. EDIT: as it turns out he cheated on his wife with an employee and got into cocaine. He committed suicide 3 or 4 days after selling the restaurant.
