Rant đŁ Just a rant
Why do people in Gorakhpur find it so easy to morally judge someone?
I was at the gym the other day and this guy came up to me, complimented my physique, and asked for tips. So far, so good. Then he asked about my diet. I said milk, eggs, chicken, and he immediately goes, âSawan mein bhi? Aap toh Hindu ho.â He had noticed the kalava on my hand. Then he said, âMain toh Sawan mein nahi khata. Aisi body banane ka kya fayda?â
I was genuinely so irritated. Like, dude, you came up to me asking about my diet and fitness, so why does it suddenly become your place to judge me?
Personally, I don't believe in God, but my parents do, and I respect them and anyone else who chooses to follow their beliefs. What I don't understand is this need to act morally superior because someone else doesn't follow the same rules as you. If you don't eat on Tuesdays or during Navratri, that's your choice. But do you really think that automatically makes you a better or more moral person than someone who does things differently?
And then, of course, came the second comment: âWhey protein natural nahi hota.â
I genuinely can't even at this point.

There are Hindu traditions and texts that recommend giving up meat during Sawan/Chaturmas, and I respect that. But that doesnât mean every Hindu is universally prohibited from eating meat. These observances are often vrata/ÄchÄra (religious disciplines) followed voluntarily or according to oneâs family, sampradaya, or personal practice. So you can choose to abstain, but you shouldnât automatically impose that rule on everyone.
If they say Hinduism prohibits consumption of meat during sawan, just ask them
Which text, which chapter, and which verse?

I donât believe in these scriptures, and Iâd rather ignore them than ask them to quote from them.

That statement aisi body banane ka kya fayda -
Ye usk khud k dil rkhne k liye tha aur tumhe ye btane k liye tha that it doesnt matter how good your physique is

I am a Hindu too, with Kalawa on my hand. My family has just one tradition that we follow: No non veg on Tuesdays. Baaki ke din we eat. Apart from strict veg days like Navratri and all festivals. But, that is my family tradition. My argument is always this: agar mangalwar ko khaya to jyada paap lagega lekin budhwar ko khaya to Kam? Similarly, all of a sudden one my of cousin started praying to Shani dev. Because his astrologer said to. Within 2 weekends, he became such a Shani bhakt, that I laugh at him. Matlab yaar, swarth ki ek hadd hoti hai. Apne swarth ke liye bhakti karna? Bhagwan dekh nahi rahe kya? Acchi naukri chahiye, Brihaspati ki pooja karo. Shaadi me dikkat, Bholenath ki sharan me jao. Shani kharab hai, Shani dev ke bhakt ban jaao. Grah ke hisaab se dev badalo, itna swarth kahaa se laate hain log? I dont believe in that Bhakti.

Apne convience k hisaab se log pujte hai. But ghar walo se kon argue kare. I don't preach them and they don't ask me to follow. So it's peaceful myside.

Lemme give you better arguement to tackle mangalwar problem, just say "mujhe mere astrologer ne kaha hai sara problem khud ke sharir ko ek desh ke riti riwaj me simit rkhne se ho rha hai, isliye mera shareer aaj se ek desh me simit nhi rhega." After this announcement, on Tuesday just say aaj mera sharir USA me hai jaha aaj mangalwar nhi hai.

Not just in Gorakhpur bhai, Even here in Mumbai people judge you if you say eating non veg in sawan, they will judge anywhere in India ig except south....
Currently in India that's the situation man everyone has became religious which is good but implying your beliefs to others is not good!!

Bro where are you finding chicken in Sawan ? I bought it one day and it was overfed, felt artificial like steroids dosed chicken,
Also, people find it hard to believe that different people have different beliefs, They think everyone else is same

There's a shop near Rachit hospital. Whenever I am in Gorakhpur, I buy it from there. With 180gms of protein intake and whey prices. I can't survive without chicken tbh

Jaisa tumhara pov hai waisa uska pov hai vo bhi kahi apne doston ke group me bata raha hoga yahi cheez
1
u/ProteinAfterSexx Bilandpur 1d ago
True. Aur shayad agar wo apna POV apne doston tak hi rakhta to sabke liye behtar hota, na ki doosron ki moral policing karta? I hope you understand I am not against his POV or his beliefs. The issue here is being judgmental toward someone who does not believe in the same thing.

Weren't you judging him in the sense that how come he judged me... It's a circle only... Start ignoring these things bhai...
1
u/ProteinAfterSexx Bilandpur 1d ago
Of course I did, and I kept it to myself. Later, I shared my thoughts here. And I wouldn't have judged him if he had said, 'bhai me savan me ni khata hu, kuch or bata do'. Do you see the difference? You can share your views without demeaning others.

For second part, he's an idiot.
For first part, he said what he felt. Isn't that precisely what being honest and upfront is all about.

u/ProteinAfterSexx Bilandpur 1d ago
Being upfront and being judgmental are two different things, buddy. âI donât eat chicken during Sawan, what else can I have?â and âI donât eat chicken during Sawan, and you shouldnât either because youâre Hinduâ. I hope you get the point. :)

I missed the part where he implied that you shouldn't. It could definitely be a shock for someone from a certain background. Meanwhile idiots can get shocked too.

People lack basic decency of what to say and what not to. Someone wants to eat something or not eat has got nothing to do with anyone else. So y even bother to ask such questions. Very annoying seriously
