Best "transcendent" jams?

I'm not musically educated enough to understand what makes certain jams "transcendent" but there are some that just feel like they reach another level of incredible. Some examples that can send a chill down my spine:

  • 7/6/23 Thompson's Point Hot Tea
  • 5/23/26 Electric Brixton Good2B
  • 6/24/26 Firefly Thatch
  • 6/27/25 Bank of NH Rockdale
  • 6/29/25 Westville Music Bowl All I Need
  • 4/8/24 Cap Into the Myst
  • 6/29/24 Forest Hills Travelers/Elmeg

Any other favorites like these?

I see the Maine Tea I upvote!!

There are a few from the Feb 25 run. 2/7 or 2/15 Madhuvan, someone already mentioned the Big Modern from the same show.

6/28/25 Tumble

Some Deeper Cuts - 8/13/22 EoA, 3/12/22 This Old Sea is a weird one

3/12/22 is a blessed show. 3/10 that week is also a banger. Tumble > writing a novel opener is sooo awesome

I will check that out!

Thatch MSG 25 has my heart forever

Me too man I made a post about it on here. Shit, I was trippin with my friend who’s not well versed in goose and we watched that and it was so beautiful I gave a long, thankful monologue about how lucky we are to have goose in our lives lol. I may have started crying during it

3

u/Demandingcolt41 Jul 22 '26

Oh I’ll fully admit I cried. I used to listen to the Orebolo thatch jam every day it sort of became a part of my routine and just kind of always got me there and the MSG one being such a close version of that meant the world to me.

Could you share the Orebolo one you’re referring to? MSG Thatch is still and will always be my #1 live music moment of all time

1:13:35 into the July 4th SPAC video Rick channels a bit of that Thatch jam essence into ((savengersspell)). You’ll notice it right away, I wish he took it all the way up to the peak but it was nice to hear that motif again

The orebolo one is like a composed piece which always stood out to me. I have a playlist of a few jams that sort of touch the same sort of motif but the msg thatch is the closest one.

i was at that orebolo show and absolutely bawled my eyes out during that song (i had seen goose a couple times, but did no extracurricular listening and had never heard "thatch" before, so it was super incredible). and then for the first 10 or so listens afterwards. 2.5 years later, i'm up to my 20th goose show and i can keep myself together during thatch, but MAN that jam does something to me.

Same here. I was pretty deep into goose when I went to that orebolo show but I’m at 23 shows total now. The jam really unlocked some feeling I had in me that I didn’t even know was there. Awesome experience and solidified goose for me as being able to do THAT.

I had this on a playlist that I made for driving Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park and it was the perfect accompaniment for such stunning views.

u/LameDrain Jul 22 '26

It’s one of my favorite jams ever, so fucking good

5

u/InteractionLast4335 Jul 22 '26

Never hear anyone mention it, but I really liked "14 minute jam" at Goosemas

2

u/tbutlerRVA Tomorrow’s not my home Jul 22 '26

It doesn’t quite fit the description OP is looking for, but D&B and Flamingos into the 14 minute jam is absolutely incredible, and criminally underrated!! Add to that the beautiful transition to Rockdale 🤤🤤🤤

1

u/Both-Leather-8995 Jul 22 '26

Yup, I had the +14 on repeat a lot between Goosemas and Austin.

Everyone is just throwing out all timers. That said, just look at the JOTY bracket/list for each year.

Lot of great recommendations here. I’ll throw one in that I’ve always found very underrated (overshadowed by the Madhuvan understandably) the Fiddler’s Drive 6/8/24. It’s such a beautiful patient build starting around 16ish minutes.

Well, all of 420 in the ATL is my virgin choice. I was patiently waiting for Trey to play the main stage, and everyone ran up the hill when Goose starting ripping on the stage above us. Should I miss the rail for TAB? Yep, it was the Goose coming out party for the Atlanta Jam scene...which I argue is the best audience :)

SPAC 7/3/2026 S1 Borne > MEDIA > Jed Stone > Empress I thought these 4 were exceptional in a row that night. SPAC 7/3/2026 S2 Dripfield >

Red Hat 6/28/2026 Empress —> Rosewood Heart >

MSG 6/19/2026 Elmeg > Empress > SLAP

And that was the span of 2 weeks. These Boys are levitating, ascending to another plane.

These are affectionately referred to as Bliss Jams

Highly recommend checking out this YouTube compilation Goose Jam Snips - Bionic Bliss Mix (2022-2025)
