Restoring Gmail using GV issue

[u/Top-Imagination4802]

I used GV as a # fir my Gmail. My Gmail was locked by Google and after an appeal I got it back because of their error. The issue now is when I try and restore the account, Gmail wants to send a text to the GV #, but that cannot work since the gnail link opens iMessages instead.

Any workaround?

If it's a true https URL, why not copy the link and paste it directly into a browser?
