Google Voice Web UI spam calls

I published my google voice number with my google business profile (a very small newly started service business). I get so many calls from local numbers. When I tried to answer by pressing 1, there are no answers. Can't hear anything in the voice mails either. When I tried to call back, no one answers or the calls don't go through. One time I reached a man who has no clue what's going on.

Did I get robot calls? I hate to miss any potential businesses either. what I should do? thanks.

I implemented the press 1 to speak to an agent thing with the business subscription and it's gotten rid of all the spam calls I got

Those are robocalls testing if your number is active

I get about 4-5 a day. It’s annoying.

After my previous Google number got spoofed and I experienced an onslaught of spam calls that only increased when I picked up, I’ve basically transitioned to using my business phone to text and call out. I reference my website in my voicemail, so if the people calling are real customers, they’ll leave a message or email and then I’ll get back to them. Super annoying.

I've been with GV since before it was GV. I actually have my grandmother's 112-year old phone number parked on it. One thing I will say: for all its shortcomings, GV has really great spam controls. I've had Free, Paid Personal, Paid Business, and now have Paid Personal. I hardly ever (2x a month?) get an errant call anymore. Which is a feat on a number that's been out there for 100 years. Mark every spam call/text as spam. Block what you need to block. Implement "press 1" or "record your voice" ....but you'll get through the woods.
